Hi… my name is Scrumptious,

Adopted 6-4-18

I’m betting you’ve heard “the ayes have it” after an affirmative vote, so I’m here to tell you that in my case, “the EYES have it!” Their gorgeous sea-green color makes my glossy black fur just pop, so whoever designed me sure had “wow!” in mind! Spending time outdoors is pretty much always fun for humans, but for me it was mighty scary until I was rescued, so a safe home, a warm lap, yummy food and love galore will put all my fears of the wild to rest. I’m only about 2 years old and a total lovebug, so I’m dreaming of spending all the rest of the many I have ahead with you!

Hi… my name is Lowell,

Adopted 5-25-18

Lowell has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I was found in the parking lot of a doctor’s office (a doctor for humans, that is). The story of how I came to be lost is unknown, and that’s okay by me. I’m a today-and-tomorrow kind of guy—eager, lively, looking for fun. Oh, if you tell me to sit, I’ll do it. My friends here say I’m smart and “trainable” (especially with treats). But I hope your word for me is “likeable,” maybe even “loveable.” The thing is, as much fun as I’m having here, every night I dream of the same thing: My forever home with a person or family of my own. I’m a 2-year-old Heeler/Hound mix male, 49 pounds, and I’d love to meet you, because I’m thinking we could make each other very happy for a very long time!

Hi… my name is Lacey,

Adopted 8-7-18

My rescuer said when he found me, I’d apparently been out for a while and was tired. Oh, my yes! I’m a 5-1/2-year-old Chihuahua female, just 9 pounds, so being alone in the big wide world was scary every minute and there was no time to rest. Even after being rescued, I wasn’t sure how to tell friend from foe, so I made funny noises at everyone and cuddled down deeply in my new comfy bed. And I slept. What a relief! At first, I didn’t even want to go outside again, but gradually, fear is subsiding. I’ve received medical care, lots of gentle encouragement, and now I’m glad to be here—a safe place for dreaming of the best place ever: A loving home, where kindness abides. Will you make my dream come true?

Hi… my name is Sassy,

Adopted 5-26-18

My finder wasn’t shopping for a black Lab at a local thrift store, but that’s where she found me! Hard to believe I was just left behind, but I had neither collar nor microchip, so I was good and truly lost. A 5-year-old female, about 64 pounds, I got along with my finder’s other dogs, but chased her cat. Other than that, she gave me lots of good reports—said I’m housebroken, people-friendly, smart, affectionate, and very sweet. Three kids visited, ages 4 to 10, and I was okay with them, too. Mind you, when first here, I was pretty anxious and some new dogs made me nervous. But human kindness and affection can work wonders. Today, I dare to dream that someone will choose me as their loving companion—someone wonderful like you!

Hi… my name is Scoots,

Adopted 8-4-18

Note: Bio needs update.

For a “teenage mom” who was found foraging in the desert over a year ago, I’m a gentle girl at heart. My family said although I’d led a hard life, I was still playful and that I got along famously with their dogs but not their cats. So what I need now is a “cat free” home (a friendly dog might be OK), and person who’ll schmooze with me now and then. Although I tolerate the other cats here, they’re kinda getting on my nerves, so I’d love a home where I have my own space and can enjoy the freedom to explore the house or just hang out in a sunny window or on a lap. Won’t you give me a home where I can have the fun, easygoing life-style I’ve earned?

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

“You can’t buy love, but you can adopt it.” I’m living proof of that sign at the Animal League. I learned about love from my owner who adopted me as a puppy years ago, but now can’t take care of me anymore. Yes, it’s a surprising change for me—I loved being a great companion dog, but the volunteers assure me that I’m still that great dog. I ask to go outside, walk beautifully on a leash, and although a big guy—78 pounds—I’m an affectionate, sweet fellow who just wants you to be happy. A 9-1/2-year-old Shepherd mix, I’m a senior dog now and have Free Vet Care for Life. For me, the most exciting new thing in life will be you—the day you say we can go home together forever!

K C

Adopted 5-9-18

KC is a handsome, energetic, and social 3-year-old, 65-pound Staffie mix that needs a new home as rescuer is disabled and unable to provide enough exercise for him. He is in good health and is neutered. KC loves people and has excellent manners; he knows many commands: sit, stay, come, lie down, no, get your leash, bring the Frisbee, down, treat, off, easy, heel, and more! He is housebroken and asks to go out. He gets along with other dogs, enjoys car rides, walks well on leash, and loves to play ball and run at the park. Not recommended for children or cats and might be best as an only child.

There is no adoption fee for this special guy. If you would welcome KC into a loving home as part of your family, please call Marion between 11 AM and 5 PM at 520-647-9978.

Hi… my name is Phinnie,

If you’re the kind of person who likes a little “white noise” when you go to sleep, well, let me tell you about my purr! Just pick me up and let me snuggle into your neck, and you’ll get a nice little massage along with the “music!” The performance is just to let you know that I’m SO happy to have been rescued and is giving you a hint of things to come when you take me home! I was found “hungry and very friendly” in a Sahuarita neighborhood, and although the good neighbors fed me, they knew outdoors was not the place for me to be. I’m only about 8 months old and have a rare “smoke” coat (black with a silver underlay), so with personality to spare, what more could you want?

Hi… my name is Cody,

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

As a senior dog, I’m glad to be a “known quantity”—personality and behavior well established. The family friend who brought me here after my person passed away described me as “loyal, friendly, sweet, and loving.” In my few days with him, I was around a toddler and another dog, and we all got along. Also, I’m leash-trained and housebroken; yes, I’ve learned those lessons. Walks are still fun, but I’m content with lots of relaxation, too, and as a 14-year-old, I come with Free Vet Care For Life. Oh, I know it’s a lot to ask for you to choose me. There are younger and cuter dogs, and my dark golden coat has white hairs now, but if you want a dog who truly knows how to love and be loved, I’m all yours.
