Animal League News

Hi… my name is Snickerdoodle,

Adopted with Dexter 1-19-26

My brother Dexter and I survived our owner’s death and being left outside—talk about a heartbreak! I’m still getting over it. Thanks to a kind neighbor we were trapped and brought to The Animal League. I’m getting used to a new place and like hanging out on a perch in the catio. I like the petting, brushing and whatnot that I get from the volunteers. What I think would really be grand is to be adopted into a new home soon. I’m a handsome grey tabby with beautiful bold stripes. Come on, what do you say?

Hi… my name is Dexter,

My brother Snickerdoodle and I survived our owner’s death and being left outside—talk about a heartbreak! I’m still getting over it. Thanks to a kind neighbor we were trapped and brought to The Animal League. Right now I hang out in a wall cubby and let the volunteers try to work their magic on my psyche. I’m getting used to their attention. What I think would really work is to be adopted into a new home. I’m a handsome grey boy with just a bit of white on my face. Come on, what do you say?

Hi… my name is Blossom,

Adopted 9-27-25

I had a short stay here at The Animal League earlier this year and was adopted right away.  Unfortunately my new family is moving now and I can’t go along—so here I am again! I’m hoping that my outgoing personality will win me a new place soon. I’m a fluffy brown tabby with spots of white.  I’ll roll over and purr for attention and I like laps.  At my young age I like to play, too, but I’m a little too rough for children. You can find me sleeping on a perch on a cat tree in my room, so come on over and meet me!

Hi… my name is Copper,

Adopted 8-28-25

Like many other dogs, I started as a stray and needed some care before I could show my true self. I’m shy at first, but give me time and you’ll find I’m friendly, playful, and full of love. I walk politely on leash, don’t chew or counter surf, and I know basic commands like sit, down, and leave it (yep, I’m smart!). I’m crate trained, but mostly just snooze there by choice. Kids make me nervous, so I’d prefer a calm home without that energy. What I do love is other dogs—I have a wonderful doggie roommate and hope to have a new playmate in my forever home. Car rides, patio lounging, even storms? No problem. I may take a little while to warm up, but once I do, this Copper will shine brighter than Gold!

Hi… my name is Ginger,

Adopted 6-7-25

I was adopted and returned for one of the oldest, silliest reasons in the book: Being “too much puppy.” Everyone knows puppies don’t train themselves. I’ve got great human friends and an adult dog roommate who are teaching me manners, like sitting, waiting, and that leash walks are great ways to get out and explore the world. Still, I’m holding out for the real deal—a forever family that understands puppies grow up, need guidance, and love a good game of chase in the yard, followed by a snuggle on the couch. Bonus points if you’ve got another playful pup I can wrestle, nap next to, and learn from. So, if you’re looking for a best friend who will grow up by your side (and not magically train herself), I’m ready, willing, and wagging!

HUEY is a handsome, playful, and quiet 4-month-old, 15-pound hound (?) mix male that needs a good home. He is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained (will use doggy door). He knows basic obedience training (knows sit and recall). He is in good health, neutered, up to date on shots, and medical records are available (vet estimates he will be about 35 pounds when full grown). Huey loves going on walks and playing with other dogs. He likes to be in his crate. Foster Mom says he gets along with cats; children are unknown. He is extremely cuddly, wants to please, and loves human attention. You will be rewarded with his loyal companionship, and he just may be your “perfect dog.” There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Huey into a loving home as part of your family, please call Susan any day after 5 PM at 307-637-6023. (There is no voice mail; if no one answers, please call again.)

Hi… my name is Lucas,

Adopted 4-24-25

I’m a young Belgian Malinois mix.  Mixed with what, you ask?  AWESOMENESS, of course! I was surrendered when my human moved to an apartment (pfft… not enough room there for all the genius working breed I am anyway). I’m currently rooming with another pup, practicing my leash swagger, and mastering commands like a champ. I’d love a home where I can run, learn cool tricks, and maybe even have a job—like Chief Stick Chaser or Neighborhood Roadrunner Watch. I’m handsome, smart, and 100% ready to be your ride-or-die adventure buddy. Bonus points if you know my breed—I’d thrive with an experienced home, but if you’re ready to commit to my needs and want a best friend who’s always up for an adventure, I might just be the awesome companion you’ve been searching for.

Hi… my name is Ebony,

Adopted 5-15-25

When people think of the ideal dog, they usually think of a sweet, lovable, well-mannered girl who can walk nicely on a leash and watch Jeopardy with them. Guess what? It’s your lucky day because that perfectly describes ME! I’m a lab mix with a heart of gold who enjoys belly rubs (so much), walks, and snuggling next to a human. I’m a little timid when I first meet someone, but I have the heart of a hunter, as evidenced by the fact that I like to “point” at things that interest me, and I am an avid birdwatcher. I’d be happy to spend evenings with you enjoying the sunset and watching the world go by as the best of friends. Please come by and throw a ball for me; if you’re patient, I may just bring it back!
