Hi… my name is (Ms.) Brucie (aka Ruthie),

Adopted 5-29-25

Soulful and serene, I’ve been known to give “kitty-lick-kisses.” I’ve had several homes in which I adored my humans. Sadly, each one became ill and could no longer care for me. Although I have lived with other cats and a dog, I now prefer to be an “only pet” in a quiet home where my human(s) can give me their full attention. Although I may be skittish initially, I warm up to humans quickly. I love belly rubs, brushing, and active playtime. I’m very snuggly with my human; I’m a loyal companion. I enjoy sleeping with my human or on a cat tree. Will you be my next loving human?

Hi… my name is Poppy,

Adopted 3-23-25

Here’s the first thing I learned at The Animal League:  Puppies need love. When my siblings and I arrived as six little pups without a home, TALGV volunteers made us feel loved right away by giving us food, water, and a cozy, safe place to be. We received careful, individual attention, and soon had our own collars, toys to share, and lots of volunteers for friends. These days, we’re learning things good dogs know in fun, one-on-one times volunteers call “training.” Plus, we’re becoming explorers, going for walks outside on our own leashes with a TALGV person for each of us. I’m Poppy, one of the girls, with a black and tan coat, deep brown eyes, and this big promise: If you choose to take me home, I’m ready to love you back forever.

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Not long ago, I lived in a home with other Chihuahuas, a cat, and our human mom and dad.  But then everything changed. Mom died, and soon Dad was gone, too. The cat, other dogs and I came here, where we were all afraid.  TALGV volunteers felt I was the most confident of the Chihuahuas, the one who’d step forward first, so I guess my sense of responsibility was showing. Even better, my new friends were soon complimenting me for being “very sweet,” too. I’m a 13-year-old female who can be active sometimes, and also quite content with quiet, relaxing times. Plus, I come with Vet Care Support for Life! And now I’m hoping for one more change—the move to a loving forever home with someone wonderful. Could you be my someone?

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

When friends describe me, they often start with “little,” or even “very little.” That’s fine by me because it means I’m the right size to be a lap dog, which suits me perfectly. I love to snuggle with my friends. Oh, I can be an active little guy, but these days I’m especially grateful for kindness and comfort. After years of living at home with other Chihuahuas and a cat, our human mom died recently, and soon dad was gone, too. Coming to TALGV was scary, but after lots of snuggling, I’m becoming my happy self again. Yes, I’m missing some teeth and my tongue hangs out, but you’ll know when my heart is smiling at you. And when I become your happy little lap dog forever, I’ll bring Vet Care Support for Life with me.

Hi… my name is Willie,

Adopted with Waylon 4-27-25

My bonded sibling and I are known as the “country singers” due to our names, and we have a song for you. We lived happily with our senior human parents until our mom had to have emergency surgery. Since dad could no longer care for us, he brought us to The Animal League. He knew our kitten-like personalities would win you over. Give me a string toy and I’ll play with you. I like belly rubs which shows I like you. Although you may not be a country music fan, you will be a fan of my brother Waylon and me.  Together we could write our own songs!

Hi… my name is Waylon,

Adopted with Willie 4-27-25

You don’t have to be a fan of country music to appreciate my bonded sibling Willie and me. We could write our own music together! Just come into The Animal League to meet us, and you’ll fall in love with us. It’s easier than you think! We are the friendliest, sweetest, and most playful brothers. We could entertain you for hours with a string toy or ball. The only reason we’re here is because our human mom had to have emergency surgery and dad couldn’t take care of us. We had a great life with our senior parents and are looking forward to our next loving home.

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted with Kai 2-24-25

My brother Kai and I lived in a family with dogs, which we liked. There were kids too, and although we were good with them, sometimes they weren’t good about closing the outside doors—and we are “door dashers.” For our safety were brought here to look for a better home. My family says I am somewhat timid, and very vocal. I especially like scratching on my head and neck. Kai and I are a package deal, so I’m hoping there is a home out there just waiting for two active young cats. Come meet us and let us charm you!

Hi… my name is Kai,

My sister Lucy and I lived in a family with dogs, which we liked. There were kids too, and although we were good with them, sometimes they weren’t good about closing the outside doors—and we are “door dashers.” For our safety were brought here to look for a better home. My family says I can be cool and relaxed or friendly and playful. I like cuddling and attention, and I like to stalk my sister and tackle her. Hi… my name is Siren,

Adopted 2-22-25

Left behind—that’s me. When a new owner came to their home, they found me! Needless to say, I wasn’t part of the contract. So here I am, looking for a home. I’m very shy and have been hiding under a blanket. I’m just not used to this, I guess.  The volunteers are growing on me, though, and I enjoy being petted and brushed. I’m mostly a black tabby but I have some white on my face and paws.  I could use a patient person who will help me transition to a permanent home. Can you come meet me and get to know me?

Hi… my name is Charlie,

Adopted 2-22-25

You could say I’m at that mellow time of life—going with the flow and easy going. My dad is moving out of the country so I can’t go, and I’m hoping to score a new home. Dad says I’m shy with other cats, which accounts for me kind of hiding out here at The Animal League. However, I’ve been around dogs, and people are A-OK. You can brush and pet me, and I’ll sleep anywhere. My grey and white fur is very soft. I’m not too mellow to play with strings and other toys. Why not come meet me and see if I could fit into your home?

Hi… my name is Tulip,

Adopted 3-23-25

My siblings and I arrived here as very young puppies in desperate need of a safe place to be. Our mom was adopted after our person died, but no one wanted us. Until we came here. The TALGV volunteers became our best friends, giving us food, water, cozy sleep spots, and lots of caring attention.  We’ve had fun playing puppy games, learning to go on walks, and even participating in “training,” a treat-earning activity that people seem to think is important. And now, we’re told, the best is yet to come. It’s called adoption, which happens when someone wonderful chooses you to love. I’m Tulip, a female puppy whose coat is black and tan with a touch of white, who’s eager to play, learn and love you back forever. Will you please choose me?
