Animal League News

Hi… my name is Aztec,

Adopted 8-17-24

“Shy, but sweet” is the way one volunteer described me. I’m at The Animal League because I was left outside by my previous owners when they moved. I was terrified of the big dogs in the neighborhood so I hid as best I could. My rescuer took me into her home where I lived with a teenager and a young child, as well as small dogs and another cat. I got along with all of them. She said I loved to cuddle and would ask for petting. I loved to sleep with my humans or on my cat tree. I’m easy-going, easy to please. All I need is my new human(s) to love! Is that you?

Hi… my name is Barnum,

Adopted with Bailey 6-22-24

Hey! I’m in the prime of my life but my human passed away. My bonded companion Bailey and I need a new home! We look similar, but I have the beautiful blue eyes to go along with a tabby and white coat. I’m the friendlier one and have been following the volunteers around, rubbing their legs and looking for love. I’ll roll on my back to play and I like laps. I can get along with dogs. As you can guess from our names, Bailey and I can be quite entertaining. Maybe you need a little more excitement in your home? Come meet us and we’ll charm you.

Hi… my name is Bobby,

Adopted 9-22-24

I’m what you call “chill.” I lived in a home with other cats, but my human had health issues so I’m here now. Whatever. I found a quiet place under a cat tree and stay there most of the time, watching the world go by. I’m not too outgoing but if you come to me, that’s fine. You can pet me. I’m not big on toys right now. Other cats are no problem but I’m not clingy. If you’re looking for a cool cat that is happy to go with the flow, I’m your man. I have a standard grey coat with black stripes, nothing unusual, and that suits me just fine. Maybe you could come by sometime.

Hi… my name is Nina,

Adopted with Newman 3-30-24

My life began on the streets in Amado, but it got better.  I was adopted with my bonded companion, Newman, and had a good year or so. Our owner died, though, so we are here looking for a new home together.  I’m a little shyer than Newman, but I have acclimated to The Animal League very well.  When I want attention I will meow for it!  I like being petted and brushed.  I have medium-length fur that is white and grey, like Newman, but you can tell us apart by our noses:  mine is grey and Newman’s is white.  If you are looking for two sweet companions, look no further than us.

Hi… my name is Gato,

Adopted 3-7-24

I was found wandering about a Tucson apartment complex and brought to The Animal League by my kind rescuer. She said that I was mellow and nice.  Indeed, the volunteers agree that I am a sweet, friendly cat who loves to be petted and brushed.  Do you know that my name means “cat” in Spanish? Perfect for me! As Rudyard Kipling wrote, “I am the Cat who walks by himself, and I wish to come into your Cave/Home.” I did not like being out on my own. I desire human companionship in my own home. I have so much to say! Please come meet me and let me begin to tell you my story.
