When my owner moved, she couldn’t find a place that would allow dogs. Now I’m at a TALGV foster home, waiting for someone new to discover me…a male, 1-year-old Shepherd mix. Even though I mostly lived outside with two other dogs, I know to wait until invited to get on house furniture or go into the kitchen. In my former home there were children and cats. I know basic commands, walk well on leash, and it appears that I’m housebroken. My foster family has plans to expand on my education. Nineteen kittens and two mom cats – that’s the horde I arrived at TALGV with! We were all rescued from a trailer park where we’d been living, and I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be here! Although a bit shy given what I’ve been through, once you gain my confidence, I’m all there for the attention (and reliable food and water, of course!). I’m a dainty, approximately two-year-old, who appears to have quite a bit of Siamese in her background (apparently that’s true of a lot of black and white cats), so I’m betting if you give me a whirl, we can spend a long and happy life together!

When I first arrived at TALGV with my friend and roommate, Fry, I was overweight and a little lazy. Now, since being in foster, I’ve lost a lot of weight, and I’m full of energy. Even though I like playing outside, I’m still a couch potato who loves to cuddle. I’m a smart and funny boy that’s house-trained, loves to ride in cars and go for walks. I’m good with children, cats, and most other dogs. I suffer from anxiety and I calm myself by sucking on pillows, without ever ripping them. Although Fry and I are great friends, we are ready now to be separately adopted for our forever homes. Please call to arrange a visit.

My litter of nine babies and I were found abandoned on the street in Nogales, Mexico, and then brought to TALGV to find homes. My puppies are not yet ready for adoption, so they are in foster care for now. I am in good health but due to the strain of nourishing my family, I am quite emaciated and am grateful for the good meals provided by my new friends. (I may be skinny, but my heart is full of love.) My foster mom reports: “She’s pretty much house-trained and appreciates air conditioning. She wants to know where her person is and loves to ride in the car. She walks nicely on leash but may freeze if she sees a big dog, even from a distance.
