Hi… my name is Noir,

Adopted 2-17-20

In the annals of cringeworthy stories, mine has to be right up there! When my rescuers found me hiding under their back porch steps, they discovered that I had cactus thorns in my eye – the thought of which I’m sure gives every human the shivers! Fortunately they brought me to TALGV, but even after lots of TLC, I had to have my eye removed because it was too damaged to save. I was one much relieved lady when that was done though, and now that I’m on the mend, I’m up and about and reveling in all the attention I’m getting, so I’d love to continue that in my very own new home with YOU!

Hi… my name is Chief,

Adopted 12-29-19

After my sister and I were orphaned, we didn’t know where to go. A wonderful lady found us roaming the neighborhood and rescued us. She already had three dogs of her own, so she couldn’t keep us. She brought us in to TALGV and told them that we were very special, loving dogs that deserved a good home. Then my sister was adopted, but her new family couldn’t take us both. I’m waiting for that special person to come in to see me. I’m still young and have lots of energy. I will probably need some training but I’ll be worth it. Why don’t you come in and meet me. I’m very affectionate and would love to cuddle with my special person. Could that be you?

Hi… my name is Sundae,

Adopted 1-1-20

“Walked out my front door and found him lying on my porch.” That’s it. Well, not exactly. Turns out I could hardly walk and was in obvious pain, and after I had x-rays taken, they discovered I had a broken pelvis! I’ve been cooling my heels in an enclosure since ‘cause I wasn’t allowed to walk or jump until it healed, and knowing how active most cats are (and given that I’m only 3) you can imagine that wasn’t MY idea of fun! But it worked, and I’m almost healed, so since I’ve gotten tons of hands-on attention to keep me from getting bored, I’d like you to be sure that continues when we’re together!

Hi… my name is Thor,

Adopted 12-16-19

I’m 4 years old and 17 pounds of pure sweetness! I’m a male Terrier/Chihuahua whose family consisted of 5 children, a Rottweiler, a cat, and a Mom and Dad. They had to move out of state to a place that couldn’t accept pets. My Dad said I love playing fetch and cuddling. The volunteers say I bond very easily and make friends in a very short time. In just a few days, I’ve learned to walk on leash for the first time, and I’ve made a lot of new friends. In fact, I see everyone who walks through the door as a potential new friend or family member! Come see me and fall in love. I know I will.

Hi… my name is Missy,

Adopted 12-11-19

When I was about a year old, I was having quite an adventure roaming the streets. Then someone found me and brought me to TALGV. I barely had time to settle in when two lovely ladies took me home. It was there I met the two resident cats and we all became one happy family. I learned the basic commands and how to walk well on a leash. My people said I am very affectionate and I am good at letting them know when I have to go out. I really enjoy playing in the yard, chasing my toys and being brushed, but I’m not a fan of sunglasses. I am also crate trained. Unfortunately, my family had to relocate and dogs were not permitted in their new home. Do you have a dog-friendly home?

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 2-14-20

Comes with post-adoption support.

I’m a laid back, loving buddy to any and all who want to be my friend. I was lost and sick, and my rescuer saved my life by bringing me here. I was very underweight, and the vet discovered I had untreated diabetes. I was so tired, but now with my insulin treatments and correct diet, I’m returning to health. Folks here say I’m an affectionate, quiet, easy-peasy guy who’s totally cooperative with my insulin injections. (I also come with post-adoption support to help offset the costs associated with my diabetes.) TALGV volunteers have given me a warm coat to wear and a soft bed to snuggle in. When they visit me, I gently greet them with gratitude. I often overhear them outside my kennel saying, “That Buddy is a love!” That’s what I have in spades for the person who sees I’m worthy of their care and takes me home.
