Hi… my name is Esperanza,

Adopted 5-5-18

You wouldn’t BELIEVE what I’ve been through since I arrived! I’d been a stray for a while when I was rescued, and living outside certainly wasn’t kind to me! My lovely long black fur had mats the size of golf balls, I had sores on my body and tail (which had to be amputated!), and lots of other “dings” here and there. I’m a sweet approximately 8-year-old Persian mix gentleman (despite the feminine-sounding name – although it means “hope” in Spanish, so that’s apt!), who’s waiting for the love of my life to appear!

Hi… my name is Tutone,

Adopted 1-3-21

Here’s one recipe for getting rescued: Pick a house. Show up every morning and evening looking really lost and hungry. Get fed (all my rescuer had was dog food, but that was okay by me — I just gobbled it down!). Go looking for your lost owner during the day, then come back and sit there looking forlorn. Rescuer will give you a nice warm carrier to sleep in. Then never leave the porch, look wistfully inside, and convey the obvious desire to be a house cat! Well, most of it worked except I didn’t get to stay ‘cause of the dog, but I’ll bet someone else will fall for my moves in a minute! I’m a loving, handsome 7-year-old guy with plenty of stories to share and advice to give!

Hi… my name is Sylvester,

Adopted 5-5-18

Being almost killed by a coyote when I was a kitten left a lasting impression on me, as try as I might, I could never get along with the dog I lived with in my second home (I’m not crazy about cats either), so I think I was meant to be a human-only companion. But in that area, I just shine! My dad had me for four of my 9½ years and finally had to choose between the dog and me and, well, you can see who won! He did say said that I love people and attention, like to play with toys on strings, and am very curious (no surprise there, I’m a cat!), so if you have a soft spot for survivors, won’t you give me one more chance?

Hi… my name is Margo,

Adopted 12-19-17

In the company of kind people, I often get a contented “at home” look in my eyes, because that’s truly how I feel. One of the worst parts of being lost was not having a person to be with, for playing and for snuggling. I’m an active, fun-loving, 1-year-old, 62-pound Bernese Mountain Dog/Rottweiler mix female—not exactly lap dog size, but I’m affectionate with people and like it when you’re that way with me, too. My friends say I’m also intelligent and especially good-natured. Of note, I can be dog selective, but I’ve lived with another dog here at TALGV, so it depends. One thing’s for sure: If a loyal, loving companion like me is the kind of dog you see yourself with, I’m ready to take my place in that happy picture forever.
