Hi… my name is Bailey (aka Lady),

Adopted with Bentley B 12-22-17

I grew up with two other shepherds in outdoor kennels. Then Bentley and I were adopted together, and we soon learned how wonderful living indoors with people can be! But a human roommate became allergic to us and so now we’re back, hoping for one more chance to share a happy home with caring loved ones. I still take time to warm up to people I don’t know, but once acquainted, my sweet nature shines through; I can be a great cuddler and thrive on your attention. I was gentle and tolerant with three children in my former home, know a few commands and how to walk on a leash. A beautiful tan, black and white 3-1/2-year-old female Shepherd mix, I’m shy but am hopeful that you’ll see how great we can be together.

Hi… my name is Roseanne,

Adopted 1-1-18

Child abuse doesn’t just happen to humans. I arrived at TALGV with a massive wound on my head and taken to the vet where they discovered that I’d also had a recently broken jaw. After months of treatment and recovery, I’m living with a foster mom (who thinks my injuries were inflicted with a shovel), and she says that despite everything, I’m a sweet, happy girl. I have sight and hearing loss on my left side and have some neurological damage (mom says that I’ll be “locked forever in a puppy world” as my learning curve is a bit slow), but I love people, get along fine with the resident dogs and cats, am housebroken, and am learning to walk on a leash, so everyone is hoping that I can find a super special person to give me lots of love and consistency in my life. If you consider me when you’re ready to “pay it forward,” you won’t be sorry!

P.S. Things you should know about me (from my foster mom): I’m hearing and sight-impaired on my left side. I have permanent neurological damage (sort of like a Down Syndrome child). My tail wags almost all the time. I didn’t used to know what toys were, but I’m learning. I’m learning to trust people, too. I go into my crate (my “safe place”) if I’m frightened. I’m housebroken (I go to the door). I like dogs and cats (especially dogs!). I’m a sweet, happy girl who gets along with all people and kids. I am getting better and better with leash training every day. I need patience and consistency and a “pattern” to my life.

And most of all: I need time and understanding and guidance and love.

Hi… my name is Tink,

Adopted 1-20-18

You say you like the feel of velvet? Well, step right up ‘cause I’m here waiting to give you a tactile treat! And if that doesn’t do it, my personality will win you over in about two minutes! After the toddler in my little family developed allergies, they had to ever-so-reluctantly relinquish me, but they’ve given me a super reference: “Tink loves to get belly rubs, to cuddle, to get attention, and to relax. He’s very friendly and kind to dogs and kids [but not alpha cats!]. He’s just amazing and a new owner won’t be sorry with him!” I’m a handsome 7-year-old declawed jet-black gentleman who’s sure to be one of the most unforgettable cats of your life no matter how many great felines you’ve had!

Hi… my name is Dilly,

Adopted 1-5-20

If it weren’t for my diminutive size, you might think I’m a Maine Coon, but no, I’m simply a little “mini-Maine!” My mom adopted me as a kitten, and we lived a happy life together until she developed severe health issues. It was a sad parting, but she said if you give me some time and patience, I’ll be just as loving with you as I was with her (especially if I’m an “only child”!). She said I know my name, am very calm, and love to be petted. I’m a sweet girl with lots of purrs to share (especially in bed at night!), so I hope you’ll be the one to give me that chance!

Hi… my name is Stella,

Adopted 10-24-17

Friendly and sweet, active and adventurous—I hope you like that combination because those words describe me! After my buddy Lobo (a Husky/Shepherd mix) and I escaped from their place, our people decided to bring us here so we could find a home where we’d be more likely to happily stay put. My former people said I was gentle and tolerant with children (ages 9 to 16)—indeed, they said I “love children”—and got along with other animals. I’m friendly here, too, playful, and enjoying the attention. They call me a Rottie mix female, but I have a slender build and weigh just 53 pounds at 10 months. These days, true to my sweet nature, I’m eager to be someone’s loyal and loving companion forever. Could you and I be the perfect combination?

Hi… my name is Hilda,

Adopted 10-8-17

When I was lost, hungry and thirsty, I accidentally wandered into a dangerous place: The middle of a highway! Thankfully, my rescuer brought me here, where I’ve quickly put those difficult days behind me and made many new friends. The volunteers think I’m a Mastiff mix (82 pounds), and I do possess some of the great Mastiff qualities: I’m affectionate, good-natured and calm. Playful, too—I’ve lived with another dog here at TALGV and we’ve had lots of fun—and good on a leash, although naturally strong. I’m a 3-year-old black and beige female, who’s even more beautiful once you get to know me, and I hope that happens real soon. Granted, I’m not exactly a lap dog, but I’ll bring lots of love and laughter into your life. May I become yours today?

Hi… my name is Mandy,

Adopted 10-5-17

Things were crowded at home with four other dogs who played a little too hard for me. Oh, I generally got along well with those dogs, and the cats and horses, but I’m a gentle soul—shy until we become acquainted, and prefer cuddling to roughhousing, so it was decided that I’d be a better fit in a new home. At just 1 year old, I love to play, know commands like “sit,” “down” and “shake,” and will be happy going on long walks or just watching TV together. I’ve been good with kids ages 9 through 12, still unsure with younger children, and I’m leash trained. A 55-pound female, mainly black with white speckled paws, I’m a very loving and sweet dog whose biggest hope is that I’m the perfect companion for you!

Hi… my name is Indy,

Adopted 1-5-18

Up until now, the path to my forever home has taken some detours. I was rescued from my first home, but my second home already had three dogs and the four of us didn’t get along. There were happy times—my rescuer said I was good with her daughter, enjoyed playing ball, and behaved in the house when alone—so I’m bound to be a great fit in the right place. I can be reserved with strangers (maybe more likely with men), but once acquainted, I’ll open up to show the real me—lively, playful, and smart. (In training, I did a great job on my very first day!) I’m a 2-year-old Shiba Inu mix male, 37 pounds, whose greatest wish is to earn my forever home by being the faithful companion you love.

LADY is a beautiful 22-pound, 8-year-old black and tan Cocker Spaniel who needs a new family as she is not happy in her changed home environment. She was rescued 5 years ago from a home where three young children mistreated her, so now that her new family has babies, she is quite unhappy. She is housebroken, asks to go out, and uses a doggy door. Lady is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and knows many commands. She loves being with her people and is okay with a calm dog or kids over 8; cats are not recommended. She is spayed, is up to date with shots, and medical records are available. There is no adoption fee for this special girl.

If you will welcome Lady into your home as part of your family, please call Briana between 10 AM and 5 PM at 520-245-5434.
