Animal League News

Hi… my name is Mars Cat.

Adopted December 6, 2014.

As part of the galaxy of the eight “planet kittens,” I’m happy to report that we’re all here safe and sound and ready to spend lots of time “on earth” with families of our own. Were lucky to be here at all as our trailer home was struck by lightening and our family had to find another place to live (it was obvious that finding somewhere that we could ALL go was nigh on impossible!). We’re solid black “octuplets” and each of us is just as sweet as pie. We’re very young right now, and still at that “too endearing for words” stage, so make sure you get in on the antics and take one (or more!) of us home. “Black is back” and we’re here to prove it!

Arrived August 5, 2014.

Hi… my name is Roscoe.

I was adopted on August 29, 2014.

Although my rescuers only had me overnight, they said, “This guy was good with all eight of our dogs – big and small – was relaxed with the family, and leash trained. He seemed quiet and calm, but was still recovering from his days in the desert alone. Someone is going to get a wonderful companion.” Those are pretty good credentials for a short stay! I’m sure the volunteers will be able to “fill in the blanks” as the days go by, so stay tuned for updates on the progress of one handsome Rottie gentleman — I bet you’ll be convinced that a “meet and greet” is in your future!

Hi… my name is Sadie.

Adopted November 29, 2014.

If you’re looking for a gal with an active mind, tons of energy (think of a hiking, walking, running partner!), and intelligence, well her name would be “Sadie”! I’m a striking, 35-pound Australian blue heeler who is a real “looker” with my one blue and one brown eye. I’ve had some professional obedience training (I know wait, sit, leave it, out, down and more!), and am perfectly housebroken, leash- and crate-trained. I’m still a high energy “puppy” though (at almost 18 months), so I’d probably be a wonderful candidate for agility training (keeps the old mind and body “occupied”!) in addition to providing lots of “together” time. So if you’re an experienced, “dog person” who can provide the leadership I need to help me realize my full potential, we should definitely meet!

Arrived July 28, 2014.

Hi… my name is Luna.

I was adopted on August 20, 2014.

My mom said, “Luna is a great dog. She’s been there for us during good times and bad. She loves our cats and kids and we are all going to miss her so much.” Sadly, my family lost their home and had to move in with relatives. Since they had a big female dog who didn’t appreciate my presence one bit, my people reluctantly had to relinquish me. I’m a beautiful shepherd/Chow mix girl, am leash trained, know “sit” and “shake,” love to play with ropes and balls, and am a superb “family caretaker” (I’ll be sure to let you know when a stranger is near!). I’m a bit at sixes and sevens at the moment, but I know once I’m in a new, settled home, I’ll be my old “take care of everybody” self!

Hi… my name is Georgie.

I was adopted August 12, 2014.

Eight dogs, two cats, one rabbit (and several humans of course!). That’s the number of critters I lived with after I was found on the Fourth of July! The people who discovered me near Mann and Sahuarita Roads thought that maybe I’d been frightened by the Fourth festivities, so they looked for my owners for three weeks before bringing me to TALGV (I guess they can’t be faulted for not keeping me given the menagerie they already had!). I’m a captivating sable, fawn, and white Chihuahua mix boy  with the most winsome “won’t you take me home?” expression you’ve ever seen. Why not help me change that to “goody, now I’ve got a place of my own”? I’ll bet we’ll both be happier for it!
