Returning to TALGV, I know the kind volunteers are helping me adjust to yet another change. As a teenager, I lived here until a couple adopted me and my feline pal, Smokey. In that home we got along well with the Newfoundland dogs. Sadly, our human dad died, and our human mom could no longer care for us. So, we were brought back here to await a new home. Smokey went to one home, and I to another. In my most recent home I lived with a single person who said I was shy and hid during the day and played at night. I need a patient person to become my true self. Will you be that person?

What can I say? I was brought in by a gentleman who found me wandering about for several days near an apartment complex. It was Valentine’s Day; you might have thought they would name me Valentino, but no… I am Masquerade. There is some mystery surrounding me and my background, but it’s known that I’m a healthy, playful, handsome one-year-old Tuxedo lad. I’m very happy to no longer be “on the streets fending for myself.” I like the safety of being inside and being cared for by TALGV volunteers. However, I’m REALLY desiring a home of my own with my own human to love forever! Will you be the one? Please come meet me!

Several years ago, I joined the home of a human who had other cats, including Sam. Sam and I were brought in together, and he has already been adopted. I am a sweet and gentle lad. I love to be petted and groomed. I enjoy playing with wand toys. Just don’t startle me, especially around my face! Then I may hiss or nip at you, but I mean no harm. I need to feel safe and comfortable in my environment…don’t we all? Initially I am shy with strangers, but I warm up with your kind words and petting and treats. Won’t you come meet me? Hi… my name is Kylo (aka Chase),

Can you come and take me somewhere where I can run and play? I’ve been cooped up for awhile. It was a freak accident: I was having fun jumping around my kennel when all of a sudden my leg gave way. Would you believe it was broken? They put all kinds of pins and wires in there and then I got to live with my foster mom for awhile. That was pretty boring because I had to stay “calm,” but it was also nice! She says I’m loving and mostly obedient (although that’s not always my strong suit) and have learned to sit, come, and wait at the door. Maybe I’ll get to go home to a place with kids, so we can jump up and down together—and you know I would sure like that!

He and his siblings were staying with me in a loving foster home, preparing for life once they leave the litter, and move into their own forever homes. I am a large puppy looking for a home where I can have lots of fun, be the center of attention, and learn how to be a well behaved dog. The folks here at TALGV think I’m part chow and part Newfoundland, but I can’t remember that far back, so I don’t know for sure either. What I do remember is that a kind man picked me up when I was all alone on the road and took me home for a bit. But he already has a canine best friend, so he brought me here. I’m getting spoiled by the volunteers and loving every minute of it. But my very own human best friend (or an entire family of them!) would be better yet! Can I be yours?
