Animal League News

Hi… my name is Lexie.

Adopted October 10, 2014.

It’s sad to think that your person doesn’t want you any longer! When I was found, they discovered that I’d been microchipped, but when they tracked down my owner, she never came to get me, so that’s pretty much what I’m left to think! I’m getting over it though, and am going to get on with my life with a new family that will appreciate my myriad good qualities. My rescuer said that I was very sweet and playful, got along with kids, and now that I’m here, I’m rooming with another dog, so I get along with her, too. I’m an enchanting 19-month-old black Lab mix girl and at that age I’m like a sponge — I’ll soak up all the training and love you can give me. Why not start today?

Arrived August 25, 2014.

Hi… my name is Anna.

Adopted December 13, 2014.

I’d love to be able to tell you a lot of fascinating stuff about my life before TALGV, but I guess that’s not going to happen because I was found wandering on Sahuarita Road. They do know that I’d been adopted from a shelter at one time, but after that, life’s a blank. The volunteers do say, however, that I’m very playful, good with kids and other dogs, love my wading pool (and playing in the mud!), and walk well on leash. So that’s actually quite a bit, isn’t it? I’m a pretty, brindle and white Boxer/Staffie mix lady and I’ll just bet that I could make your whole year if you took me home!

Hi… my name is MoJo.

My first family had to move in with relatives who had cats, and neither the cats nor I were happy with the situation so they sadly relinquished me to TALGV. They said that I simply adored the kids (who liked to dress me up for special occasions!), and got on famously with other dogs. I went to live with a senor couple for a few months, but they just weren’t active enough for me, so my main goal in life is to get LOTS of attention and live with a dynamic family that has kids and another dog.  I’m a “talkative,” high-energy Border terrier boy, love to chase bouncy toys and lights, and am very loving and loyal so please, please, please give me one more chance!

Hi… my name is Riley.

Adopted January 16, 2015.

The first thing you’ll probably notice about me is that I only have three legs. The second thing will be that it doesn’t make one bit of difference to me! No one knows why I lost my leg, but I adjusted to the loss a long time ago so I’ve pretty much forgotten that I ever had four! I lived with a little family for two months after a friend gave me to them, but they had another small dog and two young kids (all of whom I got along splendidly with), and they really couldn’t devote the time needed for my education. I’m a lovely (and loving!) brindle-colored Lab/heeler mix lady who’s yearning for a family and place of my own to make my life compete.

Arrived June 6, 2014.

Hi… my name is Baby.

Adopted January 31, 2015.

Sometimes “blended” families work out well and sometimes they don’t. Unfortunately, in my case, it was the latter, but only because the landlord wasn’t happy when I arrived to live with my dad’s new family. I lived with him (and his two small children) for two of my seven years, and he said that I was a real “people person,” so I guess that means really I love humans! He said that I know quite a few commands, am perfectly house and leash trained, and was very gentle with the kids (although I don’t do well with cats). So here I am, a lovely, mostly white, American bulldog lady whose only desire in life is to have another family that I can shower my special brand of canine love on.

Arrived April 11, 2014.

Hi… my name is Sampson.

I was adopted July 21, 2014.

I guess you have to associate “big and strong” with my name. Well, I am that, but I’m a big people lover, too! I was found wandering on Sahuarita Road near the pecan groves, so naturally not much is known about my past, but the volunteers will tell you that I walk well on a leash (okay, I get distracted sometimes, but MOSTLY well!), am housebroken (I use my doggie door and NEVER have an accident in my room!), and will make some lucky family that has experience with guys like me a great companion and friend. I’m about 2-3 years old, and a genuinely handsome brindle mix of Boxer and Staffie, so do us both a favor and let me shine my light in your direction!

Hi… my name is Bella.

I was found running in the street near a restaurant called “Bella …something,” but my rescuer already had twelve (!) dogs at his place, so one more mouth was WAY over the top and he needed to find me a nice home of my very own. I am a young brindle and white Staffie mix girl weighing approximately 30 pounds. TALGV is making sure I am in good health and giving me lots of attention (although I’d really rather not share it with so many other dogs!), so I am half-past ready to go home with you. My training in my previous life seems to have been quite good, and I get along very well with other dogs. I have a sweet temperament and really want to please, so I hope you will consider adding me to your family so we can be together for a long time to come.
