Hi… my name is Dill,

Adopted 12-22-24

These are puppy days at The Animal League! First there was one litter, then another, then another, and then another! Right now, there are two kennels full of puppies, and even more in foster homes.  Male and female puppies with different personalities, coats of different colors, and already learning little doggie lessons. I’m Dill, a brindle male with white socks, one of the “spice puppies” (the volunteers choose “theme names” for litters.) I’m here to tell you we’re all looking for happy homes with loving people who understand that puppies require time and patience, and will fill your days with laughter and fun. And if you’re wondering, yes, our wonderful moms are here, too, and they’re ready for their own forever homes, too. Please come take your pick! It could be fun for all!

Hi… my name is Clove,

Adopted 12-26-24

Puppies are cute, easy to love and sometimes goofy.  I know because I’m surrounded by puppies! They’re my siblings! And there are more puppies at the Animal League, too. I hear them playing and sometimes I can smell them because, well, I’m a dog. Yes, I’m still little, with lots to learn, and needing a daily puppy portion of cuddling, playing, and reminders that I’m safe and loved. I’m Clove, one of the Spice litter boys, and old enough to meet people now. And if another puppy is your favorite, that’s okay. There are puppies here of different sizes, personalities, colors, genders, and we all need happy homes to grow up in. So, if you’re ready to add some puppy joy to your life, we’re here for you at The Animal League of Green Valley.

Hi… my name is Shamus,

Adopted 11-30-24

Although friends say I’m a “love bug,” I may be shy when we meet. Oh, I want to get to know you, but in my young life I’ve learned to be a little cautious. I first arrived at The Animal League as a skinny puppy with a significant injury to one of my paws. I was soon adopted, but when I grew into the guy you see today—a nice size for a 1-year-old Boxer mix—I was too strong for my adopter. So now I’m back, continuing training on walking, manners, and how to let my sweet, friendly nature shine through. I’m having fun (I love my favorite toys) and holding fast to the best dream ever: The day someone wonderful gives me a forever home. Could you be my someone? (10/2024)

ANDI is an amazing, well-trained, and social three-year-old, 98-pound Great Pyrenees/Newfoundland mix female who needs a new home. She is in excellent health, spayed, up to date on shots, and medical records are available. Andi is housebroken and asks to go out. She walks very well on leash and has been in training for mobility service. She is excellent with other dogs and adores children; cats are unknown but she likes to chase rabbits. Andi is obedience trained to Canine Good Citizen level. She is not a barker, enjoys her crate, and is used to daily car rides. She is a loving, affectionate, tolerant young dog that needs an alpha companion with time to spend walking and playing with her. She does best with exercise about 30 minutes twice a day and would be great with another playful dog. Andi is a house dog but needs a 5-6’ outdoor fence. She loves attention, is easily brushed, and would be an awesome companion. There is no adoption fee for this special girl. If you will welcome Andi into a loving home as part of your family, please call Ann between 2 and 6 p.m. at 916-833-9793.

Hi… my name is Baby Girl,

Baby Girl has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Why choose between playful energy and snuggly sidekick? You can have both! With my soft brindle coat and soulful eyes, I’m a head-turner, but much more than just good looks. I’m a Canine Good Citizen, which means I’m polite, smart, and well-mannered. I’m the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—I love outings, dipping my paws in the pool, and exploring, but I’m just as happy lounging in the sunshine or curled up on the couch. Belly rubs? Yes, please! Most of all, I want to be close to my person. I’d prefer to be your one and only furry companion, so I can give you all my love and soak up yours. The folks at TALGV say I’m a gentle, sweet soul waiting for the right match. Could that be you? Let’s begin our happily-ever-after today!                                                                                   (bio revised 8-2025)

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Sampson,

Adopted 10-6-24

I was found all alone near some storage buildings by kind people who brought me to TALGV. I was terrified but didn’t want anyone to see how scared I was. “What were they going to do to me? I’d better act tough,” I thought. The volunteers saw right through me and gave me time to adjust while they earned my trust (treats helped!). Now, I’m making new friends daily and will do my “kidney bean dance” to greet them. So far, my favorite hobbies are giving kisses, playing with toys, and going for walks. You’d think I’d be a super-strong dog on a leash. You’d be wrong. I enjoy leisurely walks where I can enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells. Maybe you’re looking for a tough-looking, soft-hearted lovebug like me. I hope so!

Hi… my name is Daisy,

If life were a movie, I’d be the lovable sidekick who auditions for the lead but doesn’t get the part. So many adopters pass by my kennel…. and then pick another dog. I’m a calm, soulful girl who adores humans. I once had a doggie roommate, but I prefer people—I connect better with them. I walk nicely on a leash, though sometimes I’d rather pause, smell the roses, and watch the world go by. I’m hoping someone will finally see me. I was found abandoned in the desert and brought to TALGV where I’ve blossomed — with love from my volunteer friends. My goal is a lead role in a loving home. I’m ready to be someone’s star. My big break is still out there. Maybe you can cast me in the story of your life?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.
