Hi… my name is Angel,
Adopted February 3, 2016
You know how Frank Sinatra used to be called “old blue eyes”? Well, my brother, Marvin, and I could well be called “old yellow eyes” (except that we’re not old at just one year!). Our mom had us since birth, and loved the dickens out of us, but when her health declined to the point that she needed help in her home, she simply couldn’t care for both of us, another cat (our mom), and her dogs too. Being teenagers, and still playful as all get out, she knew that we’d blend into another family in a jiffy. We got along great with her small dogs, but when the big ones visited, we made ourselves scarce, so a home with “little creatures” would be perfect for us. I’m betting yours would be just the ticket!

You know, “gets on furniture” shouldn’t be considered “problem behavior” because most people like cats on the furniture next to them! Since all the other comments about me were positive: “gentle/tolerant, quiet/laid back,” “doesn’t react to other pets – i.e. playful dogs,” I ought to get high marks in the deportment department! I also like to be combed, enjoy belly rubs, and will give you a dog-like lick now and then to show my affection. I do live up to my name, however, at 17 pounds, but as you humans say, that’s just “more of me to love!” Or with your help, I could become a Weight Watchers adherent and slim down, too! I’m old enough to have Free Vet Care for Life, so let’s get together and enjoy life!

If you ever needed an example of “exponential,” then my siblings and I are it! It started, as it always does, with two unneutered cats back in 2013, and by March 2015 the total was 15. We were all forsaken by our owner, but at least she left age and personality information about us on our carriers, and judging by our health and temperament, we were all very much loved once. My brother Biggun and I are sweet, outgoing, and engage in all the typically endearing kitten things that make you fall in love. You could make us all happy by taking both of us home for Christmas!

As a member of the “flower” litter of kittens, I was adopted early on when I was still a wee ball of fluff and too cute to pass up. Well, things didn’t work out for me unfortunately (not my fault – my person was going to have me declawed despite having promised not to), so I’m back at TALGV and although not the pint-sized baby I was, I’m still very much a youngster at only 5 months, so you won’t have missed out on much action when you adopt me! I’m still an inquisitive, into-everything kid (the need to explore the world lasts a long time with kittens you know!), so I’m optimistic that there is a family looking for a warm and cuddly friend on their way over to visit right now!
P. S. My baby pictures is the last one of the group.

When I first arrived, I was mighty unhappy living in a cage for a few days until all my “vitals” were checked out, but I’m doing lots better now that I’m “free” and making the rounds and friends in a community room. I’ve been adjudged healthy as can be, and like all my compatriots, I’m looking for a place of my own. I was found roaming in Madera Highlands and in need of a good grooming (my long coat was awfully matted and dirty), but now that I’ve been “handsomed up” I’m showing off my stuff to everyone who visits. I’m about 6 years old and have an unusual brown/grey tabby coloring, so come meet me and you’ll see that you’re totally incapable of resisting my charms!

When the volunteers saw “CHC” listed as my breed on my intake information, they were really stumped! After sifting through the papers though, they discovered that my owners considered me a “common house cat”! Well, hey — there’s nothing common about me — we felines are all unique! My senior mom recently developed extreme health issues, so unfortunately my friend, Little Big Man, and I needed to move on. Dad said, “Although initially shy with strangers she will eventually come out to investigate. She’s quite gentle and great to be with, plays with action toys and human held ones, and is a great regal lady that a quiet family will be very happy with.” I’m a beautiful “Maine Coon-like” tabby who just needs one last home that I’m hoping will include Little Big Man.

After I was discovered under a rosebush with five newborn kittens, the homeowner was nice enough to let me stay there until we were old enough to go to a TALGV foster home. Even though I’ve been a really good mama in raising my kids, I’m still glad that I’ve made my last contribution to the kitten world and can now find a place of my own! I’m a youngster myself at only 18 months or so, so I’ll undoubtedly spend lots of time exploring, playing, and doing my best to entertain you. I know that many cats think the world out there holds a lot of charm (the old “grass is greener” syndrome), but I know better — and will be happy to say farewell to “freedom” in a new home with you!
