Hi… my name is Popper,

Adopted 8-17-17

My happy little life had a dramatic and dangerous beginning. When we were just days old, my brothers and I were part of a remarkable rescue—twelve dogs (including six newborns) found in a vacant house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Our TALGV friends worked frantically to save us and they succeeded! Of course, Mom was with us the whole time—doing what she could to keep us going—and she will always be our number one hero. When rescued, I weighed less than 1 pound. Today I’m a growing, adorable male puppy with a brown coat (Mom is a Poodle mix), lots to learn (I’m already really good at the nap-and-play-whenever-you-can thing), and irresistibly cute. When I’m ready, will you give me my new beginning in a happily-ever-after home with you?

MICKEY & MINNIE are cute and sweet 2-year-old Chihuahua mixes who showed up looking for a new home. New family is unable to keep them but want to find a good home for them. Not much is known about Mickey and Minnie, but they are housebroken and love people. Shots are up to date and they are spayed/neutered. They are healthy and would love to share your company and your home. There is no adoption fee for them.

Minnie has been adopted… If you would welcome Mickey  into a loving home as part of your family, please call Zach between 8 AM and 6 PM at 520-729-8842.

Hi… my name is Willow,

Adopted 8-9-17

When my owner died, I was the only one with him. Fortunately, many animals are blessed with the ability to cope with such sad times. I stayed with him, grieved, and then accepted that he was gone. Now I’m here again—the same place that took me in after my puppies and I were rescued from the pecan groves three years ago! We’re kind to each other here. I can be quiet and a bit shy, but love the attention volunteers give me, enjoy walks with them, and appreciate the cozy bed. I’m a 5-year-old Catahoula Leopard mix female, housebroken, 55 pounds, and they sweetly call me beautiful, but you and I know the most beautiful sight is that place called home. I’m so ready to be happy again—could it be with you?

Hi… my name is Shiva,

Adopted 6-23-18

Shiva has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate & AKC Novice Trick Dog title.

People say I’m a super smart dog. Indeed, my former person said I’m the smartest dog he’s ever seen. He also said I’m “almost perfect 99% of the time,” but for that remaining 1%, well, I needed a trainer’s help. And the trainer agreed that I’m not the dog for just anybody, but for the right person, I’ll be a great companion. For fun, I learned enough tricks to earn the AKC’s Novice Trick Dog Title! And that came after earning the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen certificate, awarded for outstanding performance on behavior tests. I hope you think all that’s good, because I’m hoping it’s enough to earn what I want most: A happy, loving home. I’m a beautiful hound mix female, about 58 pounds, who wants nothing more than to be loved again.

Hi… my name is Sherman,

Adopted 7-8-17

I was a lost dog no one knew. My rescuer saw me wandering a cul-de-sac and brought me here, where people started noticing the special things that make me who I am. First, I’m young—about 10 months old, and a nice size—28 pounds (slender and athletic looking). I’m probably a Shepherd mix, definitely a male, and—even when my ears perk up—a real handsome guy. Although shy at first, I let people pet me, and soon my confidence started to grow. I became the real me—friendly, sweet, and lively. I’m learning how to walk on a leash and other important stuff, but here’s a secret: I’m still a little lonely. I so much want to be the most special thing I can be: Somebody’s dog. Could you be my somebody?

Hi… my name is Brave,

Adopted 8-19-17

Here’s me according to my mom: “Aggressive with cats and small animals, but okay with medium/larger dogs. Loves to play with all kinds of toys, mice, lasers, and stuffed animals. Very vocal and affectionate with people he knows and will follow you around the house like a dog.” And since I’m a Bengal cat, I might also add that I’m an athlete: agile and graceful with a strong, muscular body, as befits a cat that looks as if he belongs in the jungle (that’s from my breed “specifications” on the Internet!). But I didn’t just make that up – I am all of those things and more, so come meet me to see what a wonder we “jungle cats” can be!

Hi… my name is Sundae,

Adopted 6-12-17

My siblings and I were born and found living under a trailer. Our little spot was in the shade, but not a place where we could grow up, and the person nearby already had several dogs. So we came here; happy, fun-loving puppies ready for life’s next big adventure! We’re already very good at puppy things—eating, playing, rolling on top of each other—and with time, patience and attention from loving people, we can also become good at the things that will someday make us delightful, well-trained grown-up dogs. (In the meantime, we expect to have lots of puppy-people fun, too!) I’m a black and tan female, 8.8 pounds at 7 weeks and growing, probably a Shepherd/Terrier mix. You may like all puppies, but please say I’m the one you want for keeps!
