Hi… my name is Sunshine,

Can you guess why many songs have “Sunshine” in the title? Because it is associated with Happiness and that’s my destination. I’m a mixed-breed girl who is slowly learning to trust again after being found alone in the desert. Like the song “You Are My Sunshine,” I’m ready to bring warmth and love into your life, though it may take me a little time to bloom. I’m still a bit fearful of new people and experiences, but I’m gaining confidence each day. Even with just one eye, I’ve got a big heart full of potential! Like the song, “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” I’ll bring happiness with your patience and understanding. Once I’m a member of your family, our theme song will be “You Are the Sunshine of My Life.”

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Adopted with Charlie 4-14-24

CHARLIE is a 14-pound, 11-year-old PB Yorkshire Terrier with a black and gold coat.

SIMBA is Charlie’s son, a 7-year-old, 10-pound Yorkie mix with a handsome golden coat.

Charlie and Simba are gentle, well-behaved Yorkies that love adults and children. They are neutered, up to date on shots, healthy, and medical records are available. They respond to commands: sit, come, walk, shake, snackie, and bathie. They are good with other dogs but not with cats. They are trained to use pee pads in the house, will ask to go out, or will use doggy door. They are leash trained and love going for walks. Charlie and Simba are bonded companions and need to be adopted together. If you will welcome Charlie and Simba into a loving home as part of your family, please call Christina anytime at 520-272-9771.

Hi… my name is Sunny (aka Callie),

Adopted 7-9-18

“Single and loving it!” Let’s say that’s my new motto. Things had been happy at home for about four years, and then something changed. None of us know exactly why, but I no longer got along with the other dogs. We parted with real sadness, but it seemed best for all concerned. My former people called me “a great dog,” usually well behaved, and listed commands I know: sit, stay, down, shake, come. No surprise, I’m an “excellent retriever”—love playing with my toy ball. I’m also leash trained, love car rides, and although not crazy about water, I’m okay having a bath. They recommended I be an only dog (see my new motto) and I’m yearning for big-hearted people to love. A yellow Lab female, 4-1/2 years old, I’m ready to be all yours.

Hi… my name is Chase.

Adopted March 16, 2015

Although I only lived with the family that adopted me for a short time, they said that I was very sweet and affectionate with people and simply LOVED car rides and long walks. I didn’t, however, get along with their cats or dogs, so they agreed that I needed to have a home where I could be “king of the hill.” I had a head start on good leash manners when I arrived, and now the volunteers are working on honing that skill along with quite a few others (I do a mean “sit” for a treat!). I’m an impressive, 85-pound yellow Lab/retriever mix (and I come with TALGV’s FREE  Vet Care for Life). I’m sure experienced “big dog” people will applaud the day they chose me!

Chase comes with TALGV’s FREE Vet Care for Life.

Arrived June 19, 2014.

Hi… my name is Boogie.

I was adopted on August 24, 2014.
Think June in Arizona. Think a closed-up trailer in June in Arizona. Think a closed-up trailer in June in Arizona with no food and water. Not pretty, is it? Well, that’s where the owner of the trailer found my extended family (including a passel of kittens!) and me after the renters moved out. I can’t tell you how happy we all were to get out of there and into TALGV where it’s cool and there’s all the food and water we want. It may take a while for all of us to recover from that experience, but when we do, we’ll be the most grateful felines on the planet! I’m a multi-colored tabby lady and I know that a lot of purrs, rubs, and kisses will come your way when you take me home!
