Golf courses are dandy places for people, but they’re not particularly wonderful for cats (all those balls whizzing by were pretty scary, so I’m a little “head shy”!). Well that’s where I was found, and I may well have wandered there from a home nearby, but no one came looking for me, so I’m biding my time here waiting to “click” with just the right person. I enjoy being petted (just approach my head slowly!) and have lounged in a few volunteers’ laps, so I’ll wager that a nice safe home (without any other cats to compete for your affection), would round out my life quite nicely. So how about it? I’m half past ready!

Dogs and cats and toddlers — oh, my! That’s the home my sister, Nora, and I came from, so you know we’re pretty used to lots of activity. Turns out our mom had just too many pets to care for, so we were the two chosen to move on and brighten someone else’s life. Mom said, “Rory likes feather toys and laser lights, is very chill and laid back [actually, “lazy” is the word she used!], likes attention but isn’t a snuggler, is healthy (although he needs to lose weight because he eats anything!), and likes belly rubs from trusted people.” Hey, if I were adopting a cat, I’d pick me – I hope you will, too!

When I arrived in 2015, I was the original “scaredy-cat” but now I get along with pretty much everyone. A lovely couple adopted me a few months ago, but I really botched that up by occasionally behaving badly, so I’ve learned my lesson and I’ll make every effort to be the epitome of perfectness in the future! Mom wrote some great things about me (“wonderful companion, intelligent, great antics, affectionate, proud, respectful” are some that come to mind and there are even more!), so if I’m granted another chance to prove myself, I cross-my-heart promise to thank you many times over. It’s tough being a youngster living on the streets, ‘cause in addition to having to forage for food, you’ve got to be wary of all the things that can “get” you (also, you don’t a have chance to spend quality time with humans, but I’m hoping to make up for that in a big way once I’m comfortable). So far, I don’t love being with other cats and can be snippy with them, but I’m doing my darndest to do better. I’m a lovely lady who turned out to be FIV-positive (so have Vet Care Support for Life), but I’m betting in a home of my own I’ll be the companion you’ve always wanted!
