So far, 2021 hasn’t been my best year yet. My mom went into rehab and my housemate and I went to live with her friend. That was okay, but mom felt that because I have a medical issue myself (I’m on a “novel protein” diet for allergies), when she comes home, she’d only be able to manage one cat, so now I’m by myself in an enclosure (so other cats don’t eat my food), and longing for human companionship (the volunteers’ attentions only go so far!). I’m a quiet guy who likes treats, to play with balls, and occasionally lap sit, so it’d be wonderful if you’d make the rest of my year “the bomb!”

When my mom got sick, she was so happy when her friend agreed to take me in. Unfortunately after a few months her kids discovered that they were allergic to me, so I guess another (and hopefully, last) home is in my future. If you’re the kind of person whose heart goes pitter-pat over tabbies with the classic “mackerel” markings that define my breed, then I’m your girl! I’m quiet and sometimes shy, but I do enjoy playing with feather toys, having my head scratched, and just generally “hanging” with you. I’ve never lived with other pets, so maybe a quiet life with just the two of us would be the perfect fit.

When my family moved to Washington, I came here with my brother, having had high hopes that we’d be adopted together ‘cause we were so bonded. Sadly, that didn’t happen, and I’m missing him awfully (even though there are lots of other cats here, it’s not the same). I’m a little shier than he was, but I still got high marks in the affection department (loving, calm, low maintenance, and precious). In my heart, I know that I’d “show better” if I did more schmoozing with the visitors, but I’ll tell you a secret, I’m saving all my love for the new person in my life – just take me home and find out!

Remember the Charlie Brown song lyric “why’s everybody always picking on me?” That’s what I’ve been wondering because although I’m a totally sweet girl, one of the five other cats I lived with was making my life miserable. Truth be told, I was shy with the others, so being your one and only would “make my day.” My human dad said I’m very playful and loving but a nipper at times. That being said, a kind woman adopted me and loved me. However, when I got over-stimulated, I would bite. Not an admirable trait. So if you’re willing to give me another chance as your only pet, maybe we could change that habit.
