Hi… my name is America.

Adopted March 22, 2015

If you ever needed an example of “exponential,” then my siblings and I are it! It started, as it always does, with two unneutered cats back in 2013, and here we are, now 15 total (there were more, but they didn’t make it). We were all forsaken by our owner, but at least she left age and personality information about us on our carriers, and judging by our health and temperament, we were all very much loved once. My little “bio” said, “America is one ‘cool cat’ and you can tell he’s a love ‘cause if you stop petting him, he’ll butt his head in your hand to remind you of your ‘duty’!” So why not while away your days doing just that with me?

Hi… my name is Lila.

Adopted March 6, 2015

Think stroking velvet and you’ve got me! And boy do I ever love to be stroked! My rescuer’s neighbors moved away and left my mom and two siblings in the yard. Mom and one kitten disappeared (I don’t even want to think about what happened to them!); my Good Samaritan kept my sister, and since he couldn’t find a home for me, brought me here where I’d be safe. He said that I’m a total charmer, who loves chasing a laser pointer, and want to be with people and kids all the time. I’m just a youngster, so am still “into” things like kittens are, but my favorite thing is being held, loved, and made to feel secure, so I’m hoping that’s something that’s at the top of your agenda!

Hi… my name is Jordan.

Adopted April 25, 2015.

Ya know, you’d think that when people adopt kittens, they’d expect, well, kitten behavior! But not so the two people that adopted me! I was only in their homes for a few weeks, and was returned both times because they “had forgotten how energetic kittens are!” Okay — we’re into everything, are super curious, playful, and active — that’s supposed to be a huge part of our charm! Soon enough (too soon, some say!), we grow out of that and become dignified, laid back housemates. So if you’re looking for a year of fun, and then lots of years of just “hanging out,” then I’d be your guy. I’m already a “teenager” and am desperate for a person or family to love. C’mon now, admit it, I’m really what you want, aren’t I?

Hi… my name is Sehkmet.

Adopted February 22, 2015

Named after an Egyptian goddess of healing, power, and might, my dad said, “Sehkmet is very loving and will head bump whenever I want and communicates very well nonverbally. He was abandoned by one family and then abused by another, so he had a rough start early on.” I lived with him for most of my life though, and during that time he said I was very full of love if you will only love me back. I’m a sweet tabby and white gentleman and being a senior (in age but not in demeanor!), I come with TALGV’s Free Vet Care for Life. I loved my dad dearly, so would be so happy if I could continue that tradition in another peaceful, caring home.

Hi… my name is Cindy.

Adopted November 27, 2015

As all “cat people” know, felines can be changeable creatures! I lived with my single mom and three other cats peaceably for six years, until a few months ago when the cats started intimidating me and my heretofore-perfect house manners took a hit. Mom said I’m the sweetest lady in the world, who adores humans and will happily greet visitors, love to spend lots of lap sitting time, will come when called, and am generally a gentle and loving companion. I’ve never been around kids or dogs, so I’m hopeful there’s another quiet (cat-free!) home out there waiting to share my feline kind of love. I’m a classic brown tabby who promises to be the light of your life when it’s just the two of us!

Hi… my name is Sammy-O.

Adopted February 14, 2015

When you’ve lived with twelve other cats and three dogs, you’ve got to be considered a pretty flexible feline! All of my tribe came to TALGV after my mom went into a nursing home (even for those places that allow a pets, that was a bit over the top!). Being a super outgoing guy, I was adopted right away, but the lady said I was “too affectionate and needed to be around her all the time,” so she brought me back after only a week (the volunteers were pretty astonished at that, I can tell you)! So — if you WANT a guy who will be with you through thick and thin — I’m the one. I’m a young tabby and white boy who’s yearning for the chance to shower you with love!

Arrived January 17, 2015.
