Hi… my name is Moses,

Adopted April 18, 2016

Lao Tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” and that’s what has happened for my friends, Mango, Ben, Bookstore, Riley, Petro, and me. Although our starting point wasn’t exactly that far away, we did come quite a distance in order for TALGV to save us from a shelter that is closing. It’s taking us a while to settle in after our long trip, but if you just spend a few minutes with us, you’ll see how much we’re all longing for human companionship and interaction – especially that wonderful ear and chin scratching! And purr? Well, let me tell you! We’re all “yearlings” who have tons of time ahead of us to be able to fill your heart and home with love – one purr at a time.

Hi… my name is Tuscan,

Adopted June 25, 2016

Looks like when my genes were doing their happy dance before I was born, they just couldn’t decide on one color for me — grey, beige or white — so heck, they threw them all into the mix! And what a wonderful result it was! I’ve spent a lot of my time wandering the wilds of southern Arizona (no one knows how much since I was found as a stray), but through it all, I’ve learned that humans are really pretty nice, especially when they offer food and water and scratch your ears and chin. So with that knowledge under my belt, I’m perfecting my social skills so that I can find a never-have-to-leave home where that happens all the time! How about we embark on a journey of new beginnings together?

Hi… my name is Samih,

Adopted February 17, 2016

When the shelter that I was living in closed, no one was quite sure what was going to happen to all my feline and canine friends, so we were overjoyed when we found out that TALGV would try to make room for us as a few (very precious) spaces opened up. Well we all survived the trip, and are getting settled into our new digs (a few of us have been adopted already!), so I’m crossing my paws that I’ll be next. I’m an entrancing Snowshoe Siamese and tabby mix boy, and since I’m still a youngster at only a year old, I know that the many years ahead will be happier for both of us when they’re spent together!

Hi… my name is Simon (says),

Adopted May 21, 2016

I wish I could tell you what precipitated the change in my personality a while ago because I was fine with the family I lived with most of my life. At the moment, I’m being fostered with a very sweet volunteer who is real “cat whisperer,” and she has high hopes that with the change of venue, and a little a quieter life, I’ll revert to my old self one of these days. Since I’m a Maine Coon gentleman, being outgoing and friendly really is in my genes, all they need is some patience and understanding to come bouncing out again!

Hi… my name is Blue,

Adopted September 5, 2016

Blue has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I was left home alone and, unlike the movie, no one came back for me. Fortunately, a helpful neighbor brought me to TALGV. Now, you might think I’d be upset about this situation, but I’m pretty much the opposite. I’ve remained calm and easy going, and adjusted almost immediately. I’m very interested in the world around me, “inquisitive” is how a volunteer describes me, and she says I’m also very bright. A grey and white Staffie mix male, 1 year old, I’m not given to barking much, but do enjoy watching people and, based on my eagerness to hop in a car, I’d probably like car rides. Truth be told, I’d love everything about a truly forever home and will give my full love and attention in return. Could that please be with you?

Hi… my name is Peaches,

Adopted January 12, 2016

Yep. Under this fluffy fur beats a heart of pure gold that’s aching to share the love in another peaceful home! My senior mom’s health deteriorated so much that she simply couldn’t care for my friend, Sadie, or me any longer. As the volunteers can tell you, I needed lots of grooming when I arrived – my glorious coat was matted and my ears needed serious attention – but now that I’m being attended to (gently – there’s a lot of “remedial work” needing to be done!), my beauty is becoming more evident each day. I’ve always been a quiet lady, but do love to be with my person – in bed or on the sofa – so a chance to be a comforting, gentle companion to you is the stuff my dreams are made of!

Hi… my name is Gabby,

Adopted January 18, 2016

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

My “real” name is Abby, but since there already was a cat by that name here, they decided to add a “G” because that was one of the first things they noticed about me — I’ll chat up a storm until you give me attention! My family loved me dearly, but they were moving to Hawaii, and felt that my 15 years, coupled with a long plane trip and a protracted stay in quarantine, would be too hard on me even though I’m healthy as the proverbial horse (because of my age, I do have Free Vet Care for Life anyway!). They said I loved their teenagers, the dogs, and still like to play with laser lights, balls, and catnip mice, so you know that I’m no old fuddy-duddy! How about a second chance for this sweet senior?

Hi… my name is Clark,

Adopted January 8, 2016

Who doesn’t love Maine Coons? Since we’re the largest domesticated cat breed and known for our sociability and intelligence we’re called “gentle giants” and with good reason. Although we’re said to be “relaxed” around other animals and kids, in my case dogs just don’t do it for me, but I’ve got the kids, other cats, and people thing down pat (I’m especially fond of laps, and can be a bit vocal when I want attention)! My family adopted me from a shelter and only had me for three months when their lives were turned upside down. So now I’m here and ready made for a home where I can share my love of life with everyone, and if you’ve never been owned by a Maine Coon, I’d like to show you what you’ve been missing!
