Hi… my name is Georgia.
Adopted February 14, 2015
Living with a foster family has many benefits, not the least of which is that people find out more about my personality in a “real world” setting! Here’s what they said: “Georgia is a wonderful, lovable dog and enjoys nothing more than a good belly rub. She is completely housebroken, crate-trained, knows “sit” and “down,” likes to ride in the car (AND the golf cart!), and loves people (especially kids!). She will make someone a wonderful pet. She’s intelligent, willing to please, and has a great personality. If you’re looking for a companion who’s loving and loyal, she’s the one for you!” That said, here are my “vitals”: I’m a 56-pound grey and white Staffie girl, so please let me show you the “warm and fuzzy” side of my breed!

Hi… my name is Kaboodle.
Construction dumpsters are good for lots of things — even offering a place for a lost or abandoned cat to hide from the elements (and other scary and dangerous things out in the desert!). The man who found me tried to find my owners by putting out signs and posting on Craig’s List, but no one responded, so here I am. He said I “seemed very friendly” (well, you can see for yourself now!), and allowed as how I ate really well (I was HUNGRY!), and that’s pretty much all anyone can tell you about me. Except, of course, that I’m a charming tabby and white boy, and I’m going to be one happy camper when I get to move in to a safe, loving home of my own. I’ll show you that by making me part of your life, you’ll be getting the “whole kit and caboodle!”

Hi… my name is Sweetie Pie.
Adopted April 12, 2015.
If they could have found a better name for me, I don’t know what it would have been! The wonderful lady who found me said, “She’s a super sweet dog who loves to kiss and will make a GREAT PET — I wish I could keep her!” She found me running along Continental Road near the Performing Arts Center and only had me a short time, but said I got along well with her Westie, knew “sit and stay,” and was a very grateful girl to have gotten out of the road. I’m a beautiful grey and white Staffie who is about 3½ years old, and although I had a lot of irritation on my feet when I arrived (probably from walking in the desert) and a few other things that needed attention, the volunteers here will see that I’m all fixed up and ready to move on in no time. Why not visit and see for yourself?

Hi… my name is Sara.
Sara probably isn’t my real name, because my dad died and amidst the hubbub in the house, I managed to escape and the Realtor who rescued me didn’t know a whole lot about my background. What we can tell you is that I am a real “purrpot” who loves to be held, have my chin and ears scratched, and will be your new best friend when you make me yours. I’m a young and lovely example of the classic tabby and white breed — although a fairly common one, we’re known for our winning ways and UNcommon affection. I must tell you that I’m a little overwhelmed here at the moment with all the other felines around, so I’m hoping that my shining personality will win me a place in your heart really soon. You’ll never know unless you visit me, so come have a seat — I’ll do the rest!

Hi… my name is Mandy.
Adopted December 28, 2014.
After my dad died over a year ago, I came to TALGV with my brother, Rusty. Since we’d been together all our lives and rely on each other for comfort and company, the volunteers would like to see us adopted together. Sadly, our mom has recently had to have surgery and she can no longer care for us, so we’re back looking for a home that will take us both again. I’m a lovely grey and white lady who is very loving, gets attached to my owner, and likes to crawl on laps and cuddle. They say I also need to have some blankets around, as I love to sleep completely covered underneath them. I may be a bit shy at first, but I warm up once I know you, and having Rusty around would help me in that department, too. I’ll bet your life would be a lot brighter with two gentle sweethearts like us!

Hi… my name is Aurora.
My mom, Luna, and my siblings, Galaxy, Stardust, and I were found under the floorboards of a trailer in Sahuarita. No one knows how long we’d been there, but mom did her best to take care of us (without much help from humans I must say!), so we’re all a little skittish at the moment. Now that we’re here though, we’re getting “three squares” and lots of attention — the stuff they call “socialization” — so I’m sure that with all that TLC it won’t be long before we’re ready to forget about the big outdoors and move into nice quiet homes where we can be safe and loved. I’m a beautiful young grey tabby girl, and I’m looking for that special someone who’ll help me forget what it was to be on my own. Are you just around the corner?

My siblings and I arrived at TALGV back in July, and because there were twelve of us, we all got “month” names! At the time, no one tried to match our names to our sex, so some of us have “girl” names (like April and June who are really guys!), but some of us got lucky and have “unisex” names! Because of our not-so-stellar beginnings, all of us came down with a few ailments when we were small, but now we’re all better and growing into lovely medium- and longhaired lovers. I’m a handsome tabby boy who is just as playful as the dickens (having a lot of brothers and sisters to romp with is WAY fun!), but I’d really like to have my own family and home where I can grow into the fantastic feline I’m destined to be. Wouldn’t you like to make that happen for me?

Hi… my name is Frank.
Adopted with Honey Bear 5-26-17
I spent my life living as a “community cat” until I was trapped and brought to TALGV so I could learn proper “people skills.” Well, the volunteers are astonished at my progress! It’s taken lots of time and patience, but I’m happy to report that I’ve made great strides in enjoying petting and brushing, and I’ve come out of my shell and discovered that human companionship might actually be a good thing! I get along with the other cats here (especially Honey Bear!), and am available to someone who will allow me ample time to get used a new home and people. If you’re a patient “cat person” who can accept that I might never be a lap sitter (but you never know!), won’t you please consider me?

Hi… my name is Cheta.
Adopted April 6, 2014.
No, it’s not “cheetah” like the wild cat, it’s CHETa, which means “cat” in Norwegian — and I’m about as far removed from “wild” as can be! My mom and dad went into assisted living, so after eight years with them, I’ve got to find new family (preferably an older person or couple) to spend my life with. My people said, “He is likely to be shy at first, but once he warms up, he’ll talk to you and purr like crazy.” Since I was allowed outdoors sometimes (that’s a “no-no” here in the desert), I might occasionally make a try for the door, but if you keep your eye on me (and give me other interesting stuff to divert my attention!), I’ll be in your lap in no time. I’m a handsome, longhaired, grey and white guy and if you give me a chance, I know you’ll love me as much as my mom and dad did.

Hi… my name is Libra.
For a relative youngster, I’ve led a pretty exciting life (and not necessarily the best kind of exciting!). A family in Sahuarita found me when I was about to have kittens, so they kept me until they were born and weaned and then brought us here to TALGV. Since we were living outside much of the time, we all contracted ringworm (and I have a scar on my throat from what might have been a dog attack), but after being treated for four weeks, we’ve all been pronounced healthy as can be, and I’m half-past ready to get on with my life in a safer, indoor environment! I’m a lithe, classic tabby and white girl, who is very friendly, outgoing, and love to play. I’d rather not live with dogs again though, so if you have a quiet home where it can be just you and me (and maybe another feline), that would suit me to a “T”!

Hi… my name is Frankie.
Frankie has earned his Canine Good Citizen Certificate.
Adopted February 12, 2014
“Frankie is a super sweet boy who will lick you to death if you let him.” Nice intro, huh? I’m a Staffie mix who was adopted by my family a year ago and got along fine with their other dog until I decided I wanted ALL the attention, so that didn’t work out well for me! Here’s some of what my people said: “Frankie loves going out to the desert and being outside in general. He does very well with kids (ours are 18 months and 3) and is protective of them when we are outside. He should be the only pet in an active home, especially one with an outdoorsy male figure. He needs to be inside with people whenever possible, not left outside to his own devices because he gets bored and it hurts his feelings.” Oh, there’s lots more good stuff, so come for a “meet and greet” and see for yourself!
Arrived January 28, 2013.
