No, I don’t eat spinach, I don’t sail, and if you do try to put me in a sailor costume, I’ll judge you. I am a handsome, fluffy guy with a soft spot for snacks. I might act a little aloof at first (mystery adds charm, right?), but give me some time and a few treats, and boom—we’ll become besties. I’ve had dog roommates: playful ones and nervous ones. I bring the calm vibe to all. Even better, I’m leash-trained, seem to be housetrained, fresh outta eyelid surgery, and now a responsible canine member of society. I’m accepting applications for ride-or-die humans. While the cat jury’s still out, I’m ready to meet my forever crew. You bring the snacks—I’ll bring the loyalty.

Merlin

Hi… my name is Merlin,

I am a medium-sized, young dog with a beautiful mahogany coat who is just coming into his own. My Labrador heritage gives me a laid back attitude whereas the Catahoula part of me is wary of unfamiliar people. When we first meet, I will hang back and check you out for a while until we become acquainted and, possibly, even best friends. The trainers here say that I am a smart fellow who learns quickly and that I respond well to corrections when walking on a leash. I tend to stay pretty calm even when the other dogs here run around barking excitedly. If you are an active person (or family!) with some patience to continue my training, let’s meet and see if we were meant to be best friends!

Dawn

Hi… my name is Dawn.

My pal, Dusk, and I were abandoned in early February so my origin is a mystery, but now that I’m here the volunteers are discovering more about my personality every day. I’m still a little shy (I had to board at a local kennel for a while, so didn’t get a lot of one-on-one time), but I’m basically a friendly gal who walks “pretty well” on a leash (the more often I go out, the better I get!), and I really like people a lot when I get to know them. I’m a fluffy, mahogany-colored, Retriever/Chow mix girl, and I’m sure if I had a nice big yard and kids (or another dog pal) to play with, I’d become the loving companion I was meant to be. If you’d give me a chance, I’d be forever grateful.
