Hi… my name is Rosa,

Adopted February 20, 2016

You can imagine how big, loud, and scary the world seems when you’re tiny like me and lost in traffic! I didn’t know where to turn for help, but, luckily, a good gentleman saw me and brought me to TALGV. Even here, I was afraid, and huddled in my blanket for days. The volunteers waited patiently, making sure I was okay while giving me time to feel safe. After a week, with their encouragement, I enjoyed an afternoon exploring The Den, TALGV’s room for little dogs like me. Now, I’ve played with other dogs and even started welcoming petting from the volunteers, which feels oh so wonderful! I’m a very special Chihuahua mix female, and if you’re special, too—someone with gentle, abiding love to give—I’d be ever so grateful to be yours.

Hi… my name is Ringo,

Adopted February 13, 2016

My friend, Ottis, and I lived in the same home for years, but when our human mom realized she couldn’t take care of us anymore due to her own health concerns, she showed us her love once more by letting us go to find new homes. I’m a female Dachshund—my current name might make you think otherwise, but I am a girl—7-1/2 years old, and a standout in the looks department thanks to my beautiful silver dapple coat. I am shy, but reported to be good with cats, dogs, and children in the past. So, once I warm up and feel comfortable, you’ll see how loving I can be. And for fun, we could play with my favorite squeaky toys! Please come visit me today and see how great we’ll be together.

Hi… my name is Leon,

Adopted March 25, 2016

The trouble at my former home didn’t involve me, but it is what left me without a home. That’s okay, though; like most dogs, I’m very good at starting over. Oh sure, I’m a little shy at the moment. When you pet me, I may bow my head, and yelling may startle me for a moment, but my big Lab heart will open wide to your kindness. I’m a young guy, so if I start living the good life now, I could have years and years of gloriously happy days. Already, I’m friendly and loveable. But don’t just take my word for it—let me show you! I’ll welcome you into my world, and if you do the same for me, I’ll be your grateful and devoted friend forever.

I come with FREE Vet Care for Life!

Who’d have thought I’d be on the streets at this age? But there I was—dodging cars on the road less than a mile from TALGV. Thank goodness for my finder! At 6 years old and just 15 pounds, if I’m going to start a new adventure, I want safer surroundings and at least one partner with me. And what a great partner I’ll be—a little Chihuahua who expects only the basics: food, shelter, and, oh yeah, lots of love.  And what comes from my heart? Well, you can imagine how grateful I’ll be to go from dodging traffic to being in your loving home. Take me home today and you’ll be the best thing that could ever happen to me!

Hi… my name is Sasha Ann,

Adopted April 10, 2016

Sasha Ann comes with TALGV’s FREE Vet Care for Life Program

It’s wonderful the way people are extra sweet to me because I’m 13 years old. But, between you and me, there are lots of great things about being an older dog.  Like my appreciation of simple pleasures—easy walks (I’m very good on a leash), long naps, and gentle touches from my person are more than enough to make me happy. I’ve long since learned the importance of good house manners, and here’s another really important thing: I come with free vet care for life! I’m a Lab mix female who’s  interested in new people and other dogs, including my best dog friend, Austin. And I still dream that someone will give me the most generous gifts of all: love and a place called home. Could that someone be you?

Hi… my name is Louise,

Adopted March 2, 2016

A busy parking lot is a dangerous place for dogs, so my buddy, Thelma, and I were super grateful to be given a ride away from there. Now that we’re here, safe and sound, I’m enjoying meeting lots of new people. I’m a Sharpei mix female and, yes, some people are drawn to that special Sharpei look, but I like to think my biggest asset is my own unique personality. I’m a delightful 2-year-old who’s calm and attentive, genuinely interested in making friends; if you’re kind to me, I’ll meet you more than halfway. A medium size, I’m a good fit for most households, and since my breed is known for devotion to their humans, I’d be your loyal and loving companion for life. May we please start our own special life together today!

Hi… my name is Thelma,

Adopted 11-5-16

Thelma has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate

On a lucky day for us, my buddy, Louise, and I were rescued from a dangerous spot—a busy store parking lot—and brought to this safe place. Back then, I was too skinny, so I’ve been especially happy with the regular meals around here! And there are more good things—we go on regular walks, I have dog buddies to run and play with, and I recently did something extra special: I earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate! That award was given thanks to my excellent performance in the behavior department. So yes, I’ve made friends and done well here, and I’m hoping that makes me your kind of dog! I’m a Hound mix female, and I want to be the Hound dog who loves you through all the good times ahead.

Hi… my name is Allie,

Adopted March 2, 2016

My brother, Argo, and I were found wandering together, starving, each with evidence of having been hit with pellets. Imagine how grateful we were to the woman who took us in, and how happy she was to discover that despite our past troubles, we are both great dogs. With 7 animals already, she couldn’t keep us, and so our journey brought us to TALGV. I’m a 2-year-old Boxer mix female, black and tan, about 44 pounds. I’m timid, I think you can understand why, but also very friendly in my own way. Since I’m eager to be your friend, you could have fun teaching me what I need to know to be even better. Please let me show you how good it could be to have me in your safe and loving home.
