Animal League News

Hi… my name is Rosie.

Adopted September 26, 2015

Although no one knows anything about my origins, it’s apparent I’d had a rather hard time of it for a while. I had several injuries on my head and neck from what appears to be animal attacks (there are so many out there just waiting to pounce!), but they’re healed now and I’m ecstatic to be safe here at TALGV! The volunteers are learning more about me each day, and they say that I’m a super sweet gal who has the joie-de-vivre attitude that goes with being a young and ready-to-experience-the-world kid. Although I don’t have much training (yet!), I love people and don’t react a bit to other dogs when they try to ”create drama”! I’m a slender, approximately 1-year-old Vizsla/hound mix, who promises to be the companion of your dreams!

Hi… my name is Mona.

Adopted June 7, 2015

My sister, Lisa, and I appeared one day in the yard of a home in Sahuarita Heights and stayed around to play with the resident Shih Tzu and the tribe of kids who lived there. The owners fed us outside while they tried to find our owner, but when that didn’t happen after two weeks, decided that we needed more “exposure” to potential adopters so we could find new homes. They said that we were beautiful, playful, happy youngsters who need a good-sized yard and lots of attention, play time, and someone with “puppy-patience.” They’re calling us Whippet mixes, but we have “Shar-Pei-like” ears, so who knows? I’m just a happy amalgam of something! All you need to know is that I’m cute, sweet, and, best of all, (since Lisa has been adopted) I am still available!

4 TWO-MONTH-OLD SWEET, LAB/TERRIER MIX PUPS need new homes. They are all sweet, smart, and friendly, and energetic and none looks like their small (19-pound) terrier mom. They are in good health and have received shots and certificates from TALGV for free spay/neuter. They are used to other small dogs; kids and cats are unknown. These smart little pups were born on February 27, 2015, after owners rescued their mom. Their training is being started but they should learn quickly since this is prime time for it.

LITTLE JOE is the smallest of the litter at 9 pounds. He is a beautiful tricolor and looks like a beagle. He is playful, friendly, curious, mellow, likes to give kisses, and to sleep with you.

There is no adoption fee for these beautiful pups. If you would give one or more of these pups a loving home, please call Merle from 8 AM to 8 PM at 928-606-6040.

Hi… my name is Gingersnap.

Adopted April 16, 2016

My siblings, Shortbread, Oatmeal and Truffle, and my mom, Cookie (see a “theme” here?), were living outdoors in very poor conditions when TALGV’s Outreach Program rescued us. In addition to being malnourished, we had a lot of other issues for a while, but with the TLC (and medical attention) we’ve been getting, we’re all “up and running” and ready to move on. The volunteers say that I’m a sweet “older” puppy who’ll be a perfect playful and affectionate medium-sized dog for an active family. I’m only about 7 months old and right now I’m spending all my time trying to figure out how best to get more human contact, so just think — if you take me home, we’ll have lots of years ahead of us to “feel the love”!

Hi… my name is Shortbread.

Adopted April 16, 2016

My dog siblings, mom and I were living rough before we came to TALGV. But here, we’ve discovered some of the great things life has to offer. With good food and exercise, friends and toys, this safe place has brought out the happy dog in me! And since I’m just over 1-year-old, I have the energy to run and play every day. I love my naps, too, but my favorite times are those shared with someone. I’m used to dog company, and really warm up to one-on-one time with my human friends, too. I have a light tan coat, dreamy brown eyes, and at 40 pounds, I could fit nicely into many homes, but just want one–my forever home. If you’re my someone to love forever, please come see me today.

Hi… my name is Cha Cha.

Adopted May 15, 2015

After my dad died, my housemates all found homes immediately, but for some reason, I got overlooked in the “rehoming” department. I’ve been with a foster mom for a while, and she says I’m a real “princess” who isn’t content with just your lap or sofa, but seek out cushy pillows and cushions to lounge on. She said I follow her around the house, never stop wagging my tail, am a real “stitch,” and if she didn’t want to be a “failed foster,” would keep me in a minute. I’m a 7-year-old Chihuahua lady with a charmingly masked face who’ll win your heart in a flash! I may seem a bit shy at TALGV, but get me in a home, and, Katie bar the door, I’m a love machine!

Hi… my name is Bubba.

Adopted July 5, 2015

When I started to hear the dreaded “D” word, I had a feeling my life was going to change. My mom and dad got a divorce, and mom and the kids couldn’t keep me, so I went to live with dad, but I just couldn’t adjust without the security and comfort of my little family, since they really were all I knew and loved in life. That said, given my personality, everyone agrees that once I get into a new active, loving home with lots of attention, all my good qualities will shine through again. My people said I was wonderful with the kids, got along well with my Lab housemate, and was a “great family dog,” so won’t you please give me that one more chance to “just be me”?
