ADDIE is a social and energetic 6-year-old, 50-pound, Australian Cattle Dog female who needs a new home with more space for exercise (owner has moved to apartment). She has some obedience training (sit and stay), is treat motivated, and learns quickly. She is housebroken and asks to go out. She is in good health, spayed, and medical records are available. Addie gets along with other dogs and cats but may try to herd small animals. She likes everyone but she really loves children of all ages. She loves attention and long walks. I am a shining example of how giving a dog time to decompress can transform their life. I was in quite a “pickle” living on my own in the elements for a long time. Thanks to the kindness of dedicated humans in the neighborhood, I was able to make my way to TALGV. Initially scared and hesitant, I was given time, love and lots of patience; I learned being a dog is fun and have made plenty of human and canine friends. I love car rides and to go on walks and show off my command repertoire for treats. Beyond my handsome looks, I’m a humble guy ready to be part of an active family. If I’m a little shy when we first meet, I hope you’ll understand. Once upon a time I was lost and had to be very careful. But here at TALGV, I’m growing more comfortable every day. My TALGV friends tell me I’m adorable and that helps. As a young adult I continue to learn but already know some important things. For instance, I appear to be housetrained as I “go” on my walks here, I’ve been good on a leash and understand the word “stay.” And here’s a secret: I’m what they call food motivated. In other words, treats often hold my interest and make me happy. I’m a female Pug mix with a tan coat and sparkling brown eyes who’d really like to meet you. Maybe you and I could share many happy times together.
