Once upon a time, a petite pup named Princess arrived at TALGV after her owner could no longer care for her. That’s me! Now I’m hoping for my fairy-tale ending. I may not wear a crown, but I do have royal manners—I appear to be housetrained, and I love my crate (my own castle!). I walk like royalty on a leash and always try to please. I can be shy at first, but once I know you, I’ll happily shower you with love. Cats? I found them interesting and tempting to chase. Other dogs? I enjoy walks with them, but I prefer to choose my own friends. What I really want is a family who’ll treasure me as much as I’ll treasure them. Phoebe is a sweet and affectionate 5-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua mix female who needs a new home. She is housebroken and asks to go out. She is in good health, spayed, up to date on rabies shot, and some medical records are available. She is very well leash trained and loves to walk. She knows “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “get down.” Phoebe gets along with most other dogs and young children; cats are unknown. She doesn’t bark except at door knocking and does not care for loud noises. She loves to relax and snuggle and will curl up on your lap. She comes with her two beds and her crate. I’m a Malinois/German Shepherd mix, which is code for: highly intelligent, athletic, and built for a job. I’m happiest when my brain and body are engaged, whether that’s structured training, adventure days, or purposeful daily routines. To set me (and you!) up for success, TALGV has enrolled me in a 2-week Board & Train program. I’ll be learning rock-solid obedience—heel, recall, sit, down, place—crate training, polite greetings, and even rattlesnake and toad avoidance, because… Arizona.
