Hi… my name is Benji,

Adopted 5-12-20

Once upon a time, I was rescued from a big highway, and I’ve been a lively, active guy ever since. I’m happily entertained with squeaky toys and balls, but have been hesitant around strangers, and need time to get acquainted and trust new people. On the other hand, I positively thrived in the foster home environment. Foster mom reported I learned how to interact with two other dogs, rode beautifully in the car, stayed off her furniture, and was housetrained. I didn’t even try to steal the remote! Friends say I’m smart, energetic, and have pleased the patient, understanding people who care about me. Will you let me make you a proud dog parent?

Hi… my name is Lizzie,

Adopted 6-27-18

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

I was adopted from TALGV 8-1/2 years ago (when I was 3), and the only reason I’m back is because my beloved person died. I like to think she’d be pleased with the nice things people say about me here—that I’m very friendly, lovable, and “seem younger than my stated age.” Even on my intake exam—temperature-taking and everything—the medical folks said I was cheerful, totally cooperative, and an “absolutely wonderful dog.” Being an 11-1/2-year-old Shepherd/Doberman mix female, (who comes with Free Vet Care for Life!), I’ve learned some important things, like how to walk on a leash, “ask” to go outside, and, best of all, how to appreciate and love my person with my whole heart. So here’s my big question: May I please have a forever place in your heart?

Hi… my name is Zeus (aka Spot),

Adopted 11-6-18

My history includes a scary monsoon storm, a divorce, then an unpleasant encounter with another dog, but also lots of friends—including some other animals—and years of a happy home life. So I’m optimistic! You could say I’m a dog with a dream—one that starts with meeting someone special like you, and showing you why I’m called “a truly great dog.” A fun buddy at playtime, I know several commands, walk well on a leash, and ride well in a car. I’ve been good with kids (ages 8 and up) and some other dogs; even lived with cats in the past! A handsome 6-year-old Staffie male, naturally sweet and affectionate, I’m also house trained and crate trained. And if you give me the loving home I’m dreaming about, I’ll give you my whole heart forever.

Hi… my name is Dolores,

Adopted 6-2-18

I was found in the desert near the mines—all kinds of dangers for a puppy out there, and I did need medical care when rescued. Fortunately, that went very well and today I’m enjoying all kinds of puppy fun. My wonderful foster mom sings my praises: “Dolores is a gem,” she said, adding that I’m extremely smart, rarely bark, happy to sleep in my crate and a great eater. She takes me walking on a leash, reports that housebreaking is progressing, and that I’ve “shown no signs of being anything other than a lovely little puppy.” Awww, thanks foster Mom! I was 15 pounds at 4 months, a tan Shepherd mix female, and if you have time and big love to give, I’d love to be your puppy today and your companion forever.

Hi… my name is Lacey,

Adopted 8-7-18

My rescuer said when he found me, I’d apparently been out for a while and was tired. Oh, my yes! I’m a 5-1/2-year-old Chihuahua female, just 9 pounds, so being alone in the big wide world was scary every minute and there was no time to rest. Even after being rescued, I wasn’t sure how to tell friend from foe, so I made funny noises at everyone and cuddled down deeply in my new comfy bed. And I slept. What a relief! At first, I didn’t even want to go outside again, but gradually, fear is subsiding. I’ve received medical care, lots of gentle encouragement, and now I’m glad to be here—a safe place for dreaming of the best place ever: A loving home, where kindness abides. Will you make my dream come true?

Hi… my name is Palin,

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

“You can’t buy love, but you can adopt it.” I’m living proof of that sign at the Animal League. I learned about love from my owner who adopted me as a puppy years ago, but now can’t take care of me anymore. Yes, it’s a surprising change for me—I loved being a great companion dog, but the volunteers assure me that I’m still that great dog. I ask to go outside, walk beautifully on a leash, and although a big guy—78 pounds—I’m an affectionate, sweet fellow who just wants you to be happy. A 9-1/2-year-old Shepherd mix, I’m a senior dog now and have Free Vet Care for Life. For me, the most exciting new thing in life will be you—the day you say we can go home together forever!

Hi… my name is Leon,

Adopted 4-25-18

I can safely say that whoever you are, you’re bigger than me. A 1-year-old Chihuahua male, I’m just 6.2 pounds, so you can imagine how scared I was to be lost—and how grateful I was to be rescued. Unfortunately, my finder’s other dogs didn’t like me, but that’s okay. I’m here now, where I’m discovering that new friends can be wonderful. Oh, I’m still timid; when someone makes me feel secure, I like to stay with them, but I’m also venturing out—stepping forward in my fenced-in patio in TALGV’s Den, hoping to meet a patient, understanding someone who’ll teach me things, introduce me to fun, and share a big love with sweet, tiny me. If you could be my someone, please let me suggest that we start our happy life together today!
