Hi… my name is Kimber,

Adopted 8-2-18

Kimber has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

Once a lost dog wandering the streets of Chicago, I was rescued and moved to Arizona. (Pleasant surprise: There are lots of Chicago Cubs fans here.) When my person couldn’t keep me anymore, I came to TALGV, glad to be making new friends while looking for that special someone who’ll be my lifelong friend. Maybe you can see the hope in my big brown eyes. If we become acquainted, you’ll know I’m affectionate and sweet with my person, love bath time, and like to snuggle under a soft blanket. I also know some commands and will usually quiet down when you say, “shhh.” A tan, 9-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, about 40 pounds, I’d love to be your lap dog, but will be forever happy just being by your side as your loyal, loving companion.

Hi… my name is Rascal,

Adopted 10-24-17

Note: Bio needs update. I was a lost dog, without a human to call my own and that’s just no way to live. It’s dangerous and lonely. So I was very grateful when a wonderful lady took me home, but her landlord does not allow animals, so we had to part ways. I was shy with her and felt the same way here at first, but now I’m meeting lots of people and enjoying the company. Once comfortable, I’m a lively guy and would make a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle. I know “sit,” and will greatly appreciate a patient someone who’ll teach me things a good dog knows. At two years old, I’m a handsome, tricolored Shepherd mix male, about 58 pounds, who’s hoping you’ll come see me real soon and make me yours.

Hi… my name is Chubbs,

Adopted 11-17-17

When our people moved to an apartment, my pal Gorda and I couldn’t go along. But there was good news: We came here, where lots of people like me just for being a good dog. And I like them right back! Indeed, I’m always ready for your attention. If you’re busy, I also love chew toys and balls, especially the ones that squeak. My former family said I was gentle and tolerant with their 1-year-old, got along with other animals, and described me as “really kind.” And, by the way, Chubbs must have been my puppy name because now I’m 42 pounds—a very nice size for a 2-year-old Lab/Hound mix male. My coat is tan with a little white, and my sweet brown eyes tell you how much I want to be yours.

Hi… my name is Foxie,

Adopted 11-24-17

What a difference time and love can make! I was a tiny, lost, terrified baby, emaciated and dehydrated, found near Walden Grove High School. Now, fast forward to today and I’m a thriving, lively, every-day-is-fun Chihuahua puppy. My foster mom said I’m very dog friendly. She also thinks I spent some time with my doggie mom because I’d already been taught bite inhibition (something every puppy should know) and can read signals from other dogs. I’m still a bit leery of being picked up, so please approach that carefully until I learn it’s okay. Otherwise, I’ve blossomed into the delightful me—a 4-month-old, 13.5-pound female beauty, playful, happy, and open to new adventures, especially if they include being your loving companion forever.

Hi… my name is Beyonce,

Adopted 10-21-17

Clouds really can have silver linings and here’s how I know:   Along with another little dog, I was unceremoniously dropped off at The Animal League by someone who then left abruptly. As scary as that was, it turned out to be the moment my silver lining appeared! I was dehydrated and needed medical attention, and immediately those needs were addressed. What a relief to realize that so many people cared so much about me! And along with the important medical care, there was affection, a cozy bed, toys, and a seemingly endless supply of human kindness. Today, I’m a happy 1-year-old Chihuahua female, 6-1/2 pounds, with a tan coat and an adorable face, who dares to believe that there’s someone who will cherish me as much as I cherish them. Could it be you?

Hi… my name is Bentley B (aka Tim),

Adopted with Bailey 12-22-17

I grew up with two other shepherds in outdoor kennels. Then Bailey and I were adopted together, and we learned how wonderful living indoors with people can be! But a human roommate became allergic to us and so we’re back, hoping for one more chance to belong to someone. I still take a little time to warm up to people I don’t know, but once acquainted, my sweet nature shines through; I love attention and will be very loyal to my person. Walks are great—I’m good on a leash, know some commands including sit and come, and was gentle and tolerant with three children in my former home. I’m a handsome 3-1/2-year-old male with a brown, black and white coat, about 71 pounds, and I bet we could be great together forever!

But a human roommate became allergic to us and so now we’re back, hoping for one more chance to share a happy home with caring loved ones. I was gentle and tolerant with three children in my former home, know a few commands and how to walk on a leash.
