Hi… my name is Magnolia,

Like a flowering magnolia plant, I need the attention and care of humans. I am receiving that at The Animal League after my rescuer brought me here. She found me abandoned in a house which she had purchased. When the previous owner moved out, he left me with food, water, and a litter box. That is not enough for a pet! I need human companionship and socialization. Not much else is known about my past. At nine years of age, I have much love to give. You’ll understand how much I loved being around my person when you hear that I was only returned to TALGV because my elderly mom was tripping over me! I was sad to leave her, but I do understand that I could have caused a real disaster with my love-seeking. I LOVE attention, preferring to be the only pet in your life; no other cats or dogs, please! Mom said that I can’t jump very high but like to drink out of a faucet (so maybe you could give me “a leg up”!) I’m a good eater, very vocal, and enjoy sleeping in lots of places, including the bathtub! So if you’re looking for an unusual Japanese Bobtail gentleman, I’d like to spend lots of time with you!

I was found with burned paws and cactus needles in my coat. My kind finders brought me to TALGV, and, boy, this is a great place for lots of attention and yummy food! Now I’m spending time with Foster Mom, who says I am wonderful, sweet, and obedient. I know my Staffie look might sometimes be scary, but I am so gentle, especially when taking treats from you. I’ll alert you when I need to go out, and I can be trusted when left alone inside. My favorite activities include watching TV on the couch with you, lying in the sun, and watching people and their dogs walk by (without barking). Wouldn’t you love to have a beautiful, mellow girl like me? Please come visit me and see how much love I have to give.

I was brought into TALGV looking a little rough, so don’t judge the book by its cover. The folks here have been oohing and aahing over me since I got here. I am very people motivated, friendly, and definitely affectionate. I greet everyone coming in with gentle enthusiasm so they can get used to me. I know having that Staffie look sometimes scares folks, but once you meet me, I will definitely change your mind. I have gorgeous golden eyes and a caramel-colored coat with white markings. I am one lucky dog. I got the looks, the manners (except I don’t like cats and small dogs), and all the love you can handle all in one fabulous package. Now I just need my someone special to share all that love. Would that be you?

You mightn’t know it, but being held is not usually a “thing” for cats, mainly because we’re insecure when not “in control.” Gentle head scratches is right up there in the “yes” department though, so if you don’t have an overwhelming urge to embrace, I might be for you!
