Animal League News

Hi… my name is Oscar,

Adopted 1-15-23

Well, I just blew it! I had a wonderful home with my adored (and adoring!) mom and a male housemate that I lived with almost all my life. Then some mysterious hormonal thing changed in me (or maybe him — they’re devilish things!), and he became my worst enemy. Since I was so much more affectionate than my “frenemy,” mom felt I’d have a better chance at being “rehomed.” I’m a total purr machine (who’s totally handsome, too), love people, laps, and think just following you around is heaven itself. If you can give me a new male-cat-free home, you’d give me (and my sad mom and yourself!) the absolute best gift ever for 2023!

PS My baby picture is shown at the end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Tupelo,

Adopted with Manuka 11-30-22

I was found under a fifth wheel trailer at night with my sister Manuka. We were brought to The Animal League where a kind foster cared for us until we were ready to be adopted. That time is now!  She said that I am wildly expressive. I’m athletic and playful and love to tumble with my sister. I would love to be adopted with a friend. I also love a good cuddle and would be happy to share your lap. Giving us attention would provide you with hours of enjoyment. You do have to watch me though…I’m a “door darter” so beware! If you want a couple of social felines, please come to meet me and my friends!

Hi… my name is Manuka,

Adopted with Tupelo 11-30-22

I was found at night under a fifth wheel trailer along with my brother Tupelo. We were brought to The Animal League where a kind foster cared for us until we were ready to be adopted. That time is now!  She said that I’m a debutante and very social. I am playful and want to be in the middle of the action! I am athletic, ready to try out for the Olympics. I have no fear of dogs since my foster had two big dogs who were my friends. I would love to be adopted with a friend. Also, I love to cuddle with my human(s) and would happily share their lap. Please come meet me!

Hi… my name is Empress,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

The shelter environment doesn’t highlight my best qualities. I’m VERY timid and I’m hesitant to venture out of my corner to play with toys and interact with the friendly volunteers. A while back a kind man rescued me from a colony of abandoned cats. He said I was gentle and shy but was responsive to attention, that I was friendly and liked to be petted. I’ve lived with other cats, but no dogs. I’m waiting for a patient person(s) who understands RESERVED felines. Will you give your heart to a sweet girl who really needs a home? An added benefit: Since I’ve been here for a while, I’m eligible for vet care support for life.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may  call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Kit Kat,

Rainbow Bridge: 7-27-21

For the full scoop on me, there’s a detailed profile at TALGV, but to save space, here’s a synopsis: I’m a declawed lady who lived with two elderly couples during all my years. I was always the only (totally pampered!) pet. Visiting dogs were OK, but I liked it way better when they left! I like playing with sparkle balls, love belly rubs, being petted and brushed. I’m here because after a family member died, my people moved into a new house with lots of construction noise and sadness. I didn’t deal with the stress well, and forgot my manners, but I’m betting anything that in a new, calm home, I’ll be Miss Wonderful again!

Hi… my name is Arthur,

Adopted 11-5-21

Comes with Vet Care Support for Life

Why is it that big guys like me almost always want to be lap cats? Well, at the moment, you might not believe it because I’m overwhelmed by everything that’s happened, so I’m keeping a low profile. But if you’d like to sit next to me in a chair by my cubby, I’ll let you scratch my ears and chin all day! My dad moved and couldn’t take me with him (that’s apparent, I guess), but he confirmed that although shy, I love laps, never scratch furniture, am okay with other cats, but afraid of dogs. At 14, I have Vet Care Support for Life, so why not make YOUR lap my next stop?

Tux

Hi… my name is Tux,

Adopted with Ziti 4-5-20

I guess some people forget how active kittens are, even as “teenagers”! My friend, Ziti, and I went to live with a couple when we were still in the fluffy, adorable stage, but since they worked long hours, they finally decided that they didn’t have enough time to spend with us, and felt another more “doting” home would suit us better (they said THEY weren’t a good fit, not us!). Dad said that I’m really playful and a great “support cat” for Ziti, who’s a bit laid back, and that I love laser lights and playing in my cat tower. I’ve got my paws crossed that two bonded companions are exactly what you’re looking for!

Hi… my name is Stretch,

Adopted 2-13-20

Is there anything that isn’t fascinating and worthy of exploration for a teenager (feline or human)? Well, I haven’t found it! My rescuer, who lost his home, said that I’m a very loving lap cat (until I’m off on other adventures!), am an excellent climber and acrobat, like to explore the house at night (something I’ll probably outgrow “one of these days”!), and just adored his dog. Being picked up isn’t my favorite thing, but I have so many other delightful qualities, that you won’t even care (and maybe some day …). I’ll bet anything having a guy like me in your life would perk it up no end, so c’mon, let’s get together!
