I was found under a fifth wheel trailer at night with my sister Manuka. We were brought to The Animal League where a kind foster cared for us until we were ready to be adopted. That time is now! She said that I am wildly expressive. I’m athletic and playful and love to tumble with my sister. I would love to be adopted with a friend. I also love a good cuddle and would be happy to share your lap. Giving us attention would provide you with hours of enjoyment. You do have to watch me though…I’m a “door darter” so beware! Hi… my name is Empress,

A nice man found me in a colony of abandoned cats and took me in along with several others of us. He says I’m gentle and shy but responsive to attention. Here at The Animal League I’ve been hiding out a little and am getting used to the friendly attention of the volunteers. It’s all so new to me! I’m not yet comfortable playing or being touched here, but in my last home I did like petting and was friendly. I’m mostly black with white paws and a smudge of white on my cheek and forehead. My eyes are glowing yellow. I’m looking for a stable home where I can show off my better qualities.

For the full scoop on me, there’s a detailed profile at TALGV, but to save space, here’s a synopsis: I’m a declawed lady who lived with two elderly couples during all my years. I was always the only (totally pampered!) pet. Visiting dogs were OK, but I liked it way better when they left! I like playing with sparkle balls, love belly rubs, being petted and brushed. I’m here because after a family member died, my people moved into a new house with lots of construction noise and sadness. I didn’t deal with the stress well, and forgot my manners, but I’m betting anything that in a new, calm home, I’ll be Miss Wonderful again!

Why is it that big guys like me almost always want to be lap cats? Well, at the moment, you might not believe it because I’m overwhelmed by everything that’s happened, so I’m keeping a low profile. But if you’d like to sit next to me in a chair by my cubby, I’ll let you scratch my ears and chin all day! My dad moved and couldn’t take me with him (that’s apparent, I guess), but he confirmed that although shy, I love laps, never scratch furniture, am okay with other cats, but afraid of dogs. I guess some people forget how active kittens are, even as “teenagers”! My friend, Ziti, and I went to live with a couple when we were still in the fluffy, adorable stage, but since they worked long hours, they finally decided that they didn’t have enough time to spend with us, and felt another more “doting” home would suit us better (they said THEY weren’t a good fit, not us!). Dad said that I’m really playful and a great “support cat” for Ziti, who’s a bit laid back, and that I love laser lights and playing in my cat tower. I’ve got my paws crossed that two bonded companions are exactly what you’re looking for!

Is there anything that isn’t fascinating and worthy of exploration for a teenager (feline or human)? Well, I haven’t found it! My rescuer, who lost his home, said that I’m a very loving lap cat (until I’m off on other adventures!), am an excellent climber and acrobat, like to explore the house at night (something I’ll probably outgrow “one of these days”!), and just adored his dog. Being picked up isn’t my favorite thing, but I have so many other delightful qualities, that you won’t even care (and maybe some day …). I’ll bet anything having a guy like me in your life would perk it up no end, so c’mon, let’s get together!

I guess it’s every owner’s hope that they outlive their pet, but sadly that didn’t happen for my dad. Although some cats have trouble adjusting to new lives, dad’s caregivers said that I’m such a sweet, loving fellow that I’ll probably settle in again quickly because I simply adore human company. I’m being treated for an eye condition right now, but they say that I can see just fine. I’m SUPER outgoing and loving, like to snuggle and play, and actually travel pretty quietly in my crate when need be. I’m a 2-year-old who thinks humans are the best things ever, so let’s meet and I’ll happily show you all my best sides!

Okay, if you want to be factual-like, I have to be up front and tell you that I much prefer adults to children and I am very persnickety about litterbox cleanliness! That being said, I’m a lovely tuxedo lady with gold-leaf eyes (and come with Free Vet Care for Life), who can be independent one minute and purr my way into your lap the next (you know, like a cat!). My dad said that I’m a really “fast runner” and sleep a good bit (again, I’m a cat!) — so I guess I sometimes go from zero to 60 in under ten seconds! My dad couldn’t afford to keep me any longer, so I’m looking for a quiet home where I can live out my nine lives in peaceful bliss. I’ll bet your place would be just the ticket!
