I came to TALGV after the death of my dear person. With me I brought my happy, gentle spirit fostered by years spent with someone who loved me, my favorite toys, and one wish: That a wonderful someone will share their home and heart with me. This from my mom’s daughter: “Lee Lou is our good luck cat! She’s very playful, alone or with other cats. She loves the red pull strings from the top of dog food bags, and tosses and carries them around the house. She also loves walking up your chest and rubbing her face on your cheek. She loved Fuzzy and they usually slept together. She’s being released because my mother (a TALGV volunteer) died and I can’t keep all her cats. I would if I could because Lee Lou is a sweet, loving lady who’s incredibly fun to watch and interact with. She’ll need some TLC to become comfortable in her new forever home, but she’s worth it!”

Laelia and Luke are beautiful, loving, and smart 20-pound, 18-month-old Cocker Spaniels that were adopted as puppies. Owner is now caring for two-year-old and feels pups are not reliable with child that young. They are okay with children over 6 and are good at the dog park. Cats are unknown. They use doggy door to go out themselves and walk well on leash. They are healthy, have been neutered, and medical records are available. They love to play, and they would prefer to stay together. There is no adoption fee for these special dogs.

As a little guy—about 9 pounds—I’ve found it’s helpful to have a big personality. Luckily, I come by that naturally. I’m alert, curious, and like making people smile. My former family said I was good with kids (ages 8 and 9) and with cats, but did not get along with their other dogs. They call it being “dog selective” because I’m okay with some dogs but not others. Recently, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed visits to a foster home, where two dogs live. Indeed, foster mom describes me as “such a love, and smart, too.” I’m a good playmate, and as an 11-year-old—with Free Vet Care for Life!—I’ve learned the quiet joy of cuddles, belly rubs, and just being with someone who’ll love you forever. You know instant coffee. You know instant soup. Well, meet instant purr! Nothing in the world makes me happier than cuddling, petting, and nestling next to you. OK, that and food – my foster mom said, “Don’t serve dinner late or he’ll speak his mind!” She also said that I’m a real attention lover who adores any toy I can knock around – for a 15-year-old (with free vet care) I’m a mighty sprightly gentleman! Before my mom died, I lived with other cats, dogs, and, although I’ve never been around them, I’m so mellow, I’d probably be fine with gentle kids, too, so pop a red bow on me and I’m the perfect gift for the season!
