Animal League News

Hi… my name is Teana,

The best thing about big dogs? Their BIG Hearts!  I’m no exception. There’s nothing small about me. My heart, love for people, joyful wiggles, and smile are all oversized. I was found wandering in a nearby neighborhood by a kind person who could not keep me (darn landlord) and that’s how I ended up at TALGV. I’d love to find my forever home with a safe backyard to play in, regular exercise, and a comfy couch to cuddle with my family. I’m athletic and strong; therefore, I may accidentally, topple over little kids. The volunteers are helping me refine my leash manners as I get quite dramatic when encountering other dogs. Hey, we all have our quirks, am I right? If you have no other pets, you’re in luck – I may be the perfect fit!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Newman,

Adopted with Nina 3-30-24

My life began in a parking lot at Safeway, but it got better. I was adopted with my bonded companion, Nina, and had a good year or so. Our owner died, though, so we are here looking for a new home together. I’m very outgoing and like children. When I want attention, I will meow for it!  I’ve been hanging out by the door here to meet whoever comes by. When I get attention, I’ll rub your face.  I like being petted and brushed. I have medium-length fur that is white and grey. If you are looking for two sweet companions, look no further than us. Come meet us right away.

Hi… my name is Nina,

Adopted with Newman 3-30-24

My life began on the streets in Amado, but it got better.  I was adopted with my bonded companion, Newman, and had a good year or so. Our owner died, though, so we are here looking for a new home together.  I’m a little shyer than Newman, but I have acclimated to The Animal League very well.  When I want attention I will meow for it!  I like being petted and brushed.  I have medium-length fur that is white and grey, like Newman, but you can tell us apart by our noses:  mine is grey and Newman’s is white.  If you are looking for two sweet companions, look no further than us.

Hi… my name is Cassie,

Adopted 4-6-24

Life can be lots of fun when you’re an Australian Cattle Dog like me!  Blessed with boundless energy, I’m a smart and loyal dog, who finds my people easy to love. I can run like the wind and enjoy lots of lively play, but my favorite thing is being with someone who loves me back, whether we’re going for long walks, playing ball or frisbee, or I’m curling up at your feet.  I will ask to go outside, have learned to sit, stay, and fetch (especially with treats), and have been crate trained.  My TALGV friends say I’m an exceptionally sweet dog, but I do not get along with cats. You can also call me a Blue Heeler—an especially beautiful Blue my friends say—but my biggest hope is that you’ll call me yours.

Hi… my name is Luca,

Adopted 7-28-24

Could you be the writer of my life’s next chapter? The captain of my new journey? I’m house-trained, well-mannered and am rather low-maintenance, meaning I don’t require hours of daily exercise to burn off energy. If you are looking for a loyal companion who enjoys the simple things in life: Belly rubs, leisurely walks, quiet evenings, naps, cuddling, I could be the perfect guy for you. Please don’t let my initial shyness put you off. My heart is still mending after my dad passed away and my sister (from another Mister) found a home of her own. These changes have been a lot to adjust to, and while I’ve done quite well, maybe you are the one to make my wish of a home and family a reality? I hope so!

Hi… my name is Gorda,

Adopted 7-20-24

Before he passed, my dad asked his caregivers to find homes for my friend Luca and me. After a couple of weeks, and having no luck, we were brought to TALGV to help us find our new forever homes. Upon arrival I was scared and confused, but with Luca’s presence and support, I soon adjusted to my new situation. I may take a little time to trust, but once I do, I’ll show you my sweet, affectionate side, and if a lap is made available, I’ll happily sit on it and offer you kisses. I enjoy my daily exercise and walk well on a leash. Now, could I tempt you into taking an outstanding, loving companion home with you? Throw in a large helping of love and I’m yours…forever!

Hi… my name is Jeffrey,

Adopted 3-19-24

I was adopted from here as a kitten and lived with other cats—until I became a bit of a bully. I have a cute face where you can almost see I’m a bit of a scamp. My coat is mostly grey stripes but I have lots of white too. Here at The Animal League, I’m looking for a home where I can be your only cat. In return I’ll play with you, let you brush me, and roll on my back for petting. I will be OK with children (not sure about dogs). Does that sound like a bargain? Well then, what are you waiting for? I’m here every day.

PS Please see my baby pictures at end of the gallery.
