Hi… my name is Chucky,

Adopted 8-11-17

One thing I’ve learned for sure: Tough times can make you appreciate good times all the more. Last spring, I was hit by a car. My pelvis and both hind legs were broken, but after some great medical care, today I’m a happy, active, super charming guy. Granted, I’m minus one rear leg, but I get around fine—leash-trained, housebroken, and eager to give attention and affection to every kind person I meet. I’m little and young, just 6-1/2 pounds and 1 year old, with a soft golden brown and white coat, and cuddling skills second to none. Cute as a button, I’m a Chihuahua mix male who won’t get much bigger, but I’m sure life is going to get better and better for me—especially if I can spend it all with you.

Hi… my name is Yogi,

Adopted 9-10-18

I used to live outside all the time. Oh, I learned to cope, but the comforts and company of living inside are truly appealing. (I do love a pool, so some outside time can be fun.) I’m 7 years old—lots of living still to do—but my people are moving and can’t take me along. We’ve been together since I was a puppy, so it’s a big change, but there’s a bright side: I know how to be a loving companion and I certainly love receiving attention, so this is my big chance for more of that! I’m an Akita/Lab mix male, about 65 pounds, with a beautiful rust and white coat. I’m leash-trained, have lived with other dogs, know some commands, and will live happily ever after if you make me yours.

Hi… my name is Socho,

Adopted 12-21-17

You know it’s really tough when you’ve lived with one person all your life and then they’re not there anymore. My beloved dad is now in hospice care, and I do miss him awfully, but after being at TALGV for just a while, I’m finding that other humans can be pretty interesting and loving, too. I’m a 7-year-old, über-handsome longhaired grey boy, but since I’ve never been around other pets or kids, everyone pretty much agrees that I’d probably like to be a one-person companion again. That doesn’t mean that I’m an old fuddy-duddy, ‘cause I love string toys and have tons of energy, so I’m saving it all up for just you! Come check me out and see all I’ve got to offer!

Hi… my name is Darcy,

Adopted 8-6-17

I’ve experienced some big changes in my young life. My owner died, his family couldn’t keep me, a kind friend fostered me for a few weeks, and now I’m here. But I’m still a typical puppy—fun-loving, cute, and energetic. Plus I have special qualities that make me who I am: I’m smart (catch on to most training quickly), love to play in water (like a wading pool) and cuddle with people (sometimes I think I’m littler than I am). When fostered, I got along with three small dogs and loved to play; my foster people called me “a very kind and patient dog.” An 8-month-old Staffie female, 36 pounds, a beauty in black and white, I love almost everyone I meet. Make me yours and I’ll love you most of all and always!

Hi… my name is Biggs,

Adopted 4-14-18

The volunteers gave me a close going over when I arrived here, noticing an injured toenail, missing skin from a paw pad (I walked some hot paths when I was lost), and they called me skinny—which meant more kibble in my dish. Even better, they called me gentle and sweet. I want everyone to know that being a loving, loyal companion is my highest aspiration, so I keep on being friendly, trying to please my person on the leash, learning their words, and generally being the kind of good dog who gets a good home. I’m a 2-year-old, 51-pound, tan and white Staffie mix male, and you might kindly say I’m cute. I know what it is to be lost and hungry. Will you teach me what it is to have a home?

Hi… my name is Iggy,

Adopted 8-25-17

As you might guess from my size (18 pounds!), my mom said that I “eat anything!” Well, I’m “big boned” too so I “carry it well!” Okay, enough with the weight-related adages, let’s get on to why I’m here! My mom was having some health issues so felt she wasn’t able to care for me any longer (sometimes just cleaning out a litterbox can be hard on people!). I had a housemate and got along pretty well, but in truth, I think I’d rather be top cat, because occasionally I was less than fastidious in my manners. Although I’m basically shy, mom said I love to be petted and have my back scratched and go crazy for catnip anything, so I’m hoping for one more chance to prove I can be your best buddy.

Hi… my name is Max,

Adopted 3-15-18

Lovable? Check. Enjoys tummy rubs? Check. Laid back? Check. Enjoys other cats? Uh-uh. My sister and I were adopted from TALGV as kittens, but despite what everyone assumes about siblings getting along, that doesn’t always happen, and I have to confess that I was a bit of a bully. There was another male cat in the house that I sorta picked on too, so I guess I’m meant to just have human companions. But boy, with them I sure make up in spades for my “deficiency!” I love treats, am affectionate and playful (and dare I say handsome?), and adore being near you, so at just 3 years old, you know that we can spend years and years of quality time together!

Hi… my name is Moose,

Adopted 2-17-19

Can a big guy like me be called a sweetie? YES! … if the name fits—and for me, it does! I’m a 2-year-old, 83-pound Staffie mix male; my coat is blue gray and white, and my heart is gold. You’ll know that when we meet, but in the meantime I’ll share my story. I was found running around a local neighborhood. My rescuer stopped, saw that I was hot and thirsty (drooling), so she opened the door to her truck and I jumped in. (Guess you could call me a trusting soul, too.) Here at TALGV, they love me for being an easygoing guy who walks well on a leash and welcomes friends. (Confidentially, they also say they love my cute face.) So if you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion, I’m your guy.
