Hi… my name is Holden,

Adopted 7-30-17

Hard to imagine, but I guess sometimes you can have “too much of a good thing”! Well that’s what happened with my mom, because her new landlord told her that she’d gone a bit over her pet limit with her dogs and me and my sister, Phoebe (she’s already found home, so hey, it’s MY turn now!). Mom said I have a few minor allergies but am friendly, laidback, will “eat anything” (no picky feline here!), and at just 4 years old, will make a handsome lap decoration for years to come! I got along with the quieter dogs in the house too, so with all those pluses, I can’t think of any reason why you wouldn’t want to make me yours!

Hi… my name is Sienna,

Adopted 6-25-17

I’m such a sweet, pretty, lovable dog, you might ask why anyone would give me up. Well, my former people can answer in one word: cats. They said I don’t like cats. Really I just don’t understand them, but it amounts to the same thing. The good news? I’m great with other dogs and people, including children. And there’s more! My people said I was housebroken, leash-trained, and an “awesome quick learner.” I already know some commands, and I’m always ready for fun. Still lively at 2-1/2 years old, I’m a gorgeous tan and white female, about 49 pounds, and if you look closely, you might notice an upside down heart on my neck. Can you see it? That’s my message about the love I have to give and I’m hoping it goes to you.

Hi… my name is Victor,

Adopted 7-6-17

I wish there weren’t things called allergies! My family’s allergies were why we had to say good-bye, which made me sad and a little scared because I’m shy around strangers. Fortunately, once comfortable with people, I’m a great companion. In my former family, I was gentle with the kids—ages 6, 7, 10 and 12—and loving with everyone. And they loved me back. They appreciated my reliable indoor manners, my habit of going outside to potty, and my good behavior on a leash. What do I like best? Being with the people I know and love, and if they want to pet me, I love that too! I’m a 3-year-9-month-old Chihuahua male, 17 pounds, white and tan, who’s hoping you look in my eyes and see one of your greatest little friends ever!

Hi… my name is Manota,

Adopted 7-26-17

Manota has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate!

I have something to be very happy about: I’m here! Maybe you’ve seen a dog tied outside on a short chain without enough food or water and you wished things could be better for them. Well, I was one of those dogs. Reportedly, I ended up there because another female dog and I didn’t get along. So today, being here is a big step up for me! And the next step will be my forever home with someone who loves me. Now there’s a dream to hold on to! The volunteers say it will happen because I’m intelligent, loving, and energetic—a dog who easily connects with people. I’m a 9-month-old Catahoula mix female, 50 pounds, with a beautiful merle pattern coat. Could you be the one who shows me the happy life forever?

Hi… my name is Caroline,

Adopted 6-27-17

My finder (the woman who very kindly rescued me when I was a stray on the street) said I was good with her kids and her cats! I’m living peacefully with another dog here at TALGV, so you could say I’m an all-around sociable kind of dog who likes all kinds of friends. A nice size at 33 pounds, I’m 18 months old, alert, playful, and good on a leash. Plus, being affectionate comes naturally to me. Oh, I don’t overdo it—I just like to be by your side and know that we can feel free to cuddle if the mood strikes. (I’m pretty much always available for back rubs, ear scratches and the like.) I’ll do my best to make you smile every day if you let me be your dog forever.

Hi… my name is Sherlock,

Adopted with Bubbles 6-29-17

Our family moved far, far away—overseas—so both Bubbles, my Terrier buddy, and I need a new home. We’re different sizes—I’m 92 pounds, she’s 23—but have gotten along with each other and were both gentle and tolerant with kids ages 4 and 6. I’m a 4-year-old Boxer male, calm and patient; I loved those kids and their parents, too. Plus, I’m okay with cats! My family described me as “an amazing dog, the sweetest Boxer you’ll ever meet.” As for specific good qualities, I’m leash-trained, crate-trained, and housebroken; a well-behaved companion at home, on walks and car rides. My former people said anyone would be lucky to have me. I say I’ll be lucky to find a wonderful someone who’ll love me forever. And now I’m wondering, could it be you?

Sherlock, my 92-pound Boxer buddy, and I got along with each other and were both gentle and tolerant with the kids (ages 4 and 6), but he’s adopted now. My family described me as simply “the sweetest dog,” and I’d also love to be called your lap dog. (Cuddling is one of my favorite activities.) My virtues are many: I’m leash-trained, crate-trained, and housebroken; a well-behaved companion at home, on walks and car rides. I’m ready to love you. Won’t you please be the one to see the great little friend I’ll be forever?

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted 7-7-17

As a dog who truly loves people, I was sorry to say good-bye to my person, but he has a serious health issue and can’t take care of us anymore. “Us” is Mr. White and me. He’s my big buddy—the 91-pound Shepherd I’ve been living with, and I’m a tan and white 19-pound Chihuahua mix female, 5-years-10-months old, with the cutest little ears ever. Obviously, I’ve gotten along with other dogs and I’m especially sweet with people. I think easy-going walks are fun and enjoy the chance to occasionally stop and smell the roses. Oh, I like to play, too, but being your lap dog—cuddling with you on a regular basis—would be my idea of the good life. Will you please give me the chance to be your loving companion forever?

Hi… my name is Sorbet,

Adopted 6-12-17

My siblings and I were born and found living under a trailer. Our little spot was in the shade, but not a place where we could grow up, and the person nearby already had several dogs. So we were brought here; happy, fun-loving little puppies ready for life’s next big adventure! We’re already very good at puppy things—eating, playing, rolling on top of each other—and with time, patience and attention from loving people, we can also become good at the things that will someday make us delightful, well-trained grown-up dogs. (In the meantime, we expect to have lots of puppy-people fun, too!) I’m a tri-color female, 9.2 pounds at 7 weeks and growing, probably a Shepherd/Terrier mix. You may like all puppies, but please say I’m the one you want for keeps!
