Hi… my name is Mickey,

Adopted 7-20-17

Mom was expecting when she was found (thank goodness!) and I was one of her five babies. The family that cared for us included 4 children, ages 1 through 10, with whom I was gentle and tolerant. But after six months, the time came for us to find our own homes. I especially loved my sister and it was hard saying goodbye to her, plus I was shy with strangers, so even though I looked good—a handsome male with a shiny black coat, 17 pounds at 7 months old—I was scared at first. Fortunately, I’m now coming into my own, learning to walk on a leash and how to do the things good dogs do! If you’ll kindly help me grow and learn, I’ll happily be your loyal and loving companion forever!

Hi… my name is Taco,

Adopted 6-1-17

When our home changed to include three small children (2 and 3 years old) and two dogs (both bigger than me), I wasn’t as comfortable as I had been. My person said I couldn’t handle the small kids anymore, and so it was decided I’d better find a new home. Right now, things have been kind of scary; I’m a little guy—7 years old, just 15-1/2 pounds. You can imagine how much I’d love to snuggle in your lap, if that’s okay with you. Indeed, I’d like to be your lap dog every day! We can go on walks, too—I’m leash trained and housebroken (in my former home I’d stand by the door to “ask” to go outside). I really just want to be someone’s good dog forever. Won’t you make me yours?

Hi… my name is Mido,

Adopted 9-4-17

There’s no denying it, the first thing you’ll notice about me is that I’m, ahem, “rather large.” Okay, BIG! Twenty-three pounds to exact, so you can say with complete assurance that I’m not a picky eater (I’ve been on a diet recently and that’s helped a lot)! My dad took my housemate, Raggio, and me from my first family when they were transferred and only had us three weeks before bringing us to TALGV. To be fair, he did try (and said that I had a “good temperament”), but that just isn’t enough time for most cats to adjust to new circumstances, so I’m hoping another family will be more patient and let me prove that I really can be a companion extraordinaire!

Hi… my name is Ruby,

Adopted 7-11-17

“Very friendly.” That’s just one of the compliments given to me by the kind stranger who found me in the parking lot of a local store. I was lost, wandering among the cars and people, and it was scary! Fortunately, although my rescuers knew they couldn’t keep me, they took me home for a day and discovered how truly friendly I am. I was very sweet with children and other dogs, they said, and love to cuddle (oh, so true!). I’m a 1-1/2-year-old Staffie mix female, about 47 pounds with a sleek black and white coat, who’s lively and playful. When the volunteers arrive to take me for a walk, I’m so excited I sometimes jump for joy! Can you imagine how happy I’ll be if you say to me, “Sweetie, let’s go home!”

Hi… my name is Spiker,

Adopted 6-4-17

As my former people explained, their “14-year-old Heeler passed away, which caused the dynamics within the house to change.” After that, the other boy dog and I didn’t get along, so I lost my home. But they left me with loads of compliments, saying I’m “great with cats…an indoor dog who has the run of the house…fully trained for bathroom duty.” They didn’t have kids, but at their house I was “good with all ages.” I’m a 4-year-old Blue Heeler male, 37 pounds, and sometimes I’m nervous or shy. Maybe you understand. If so, we could have great fun together—I love to chase a ball, catch a Frisbee, go on walks/hikes (trained to carry a pack), and know a long list of commands. Won’t you please say my forever home is with you?

Hi… my name is Lina,

Adopted 5-30-17

What’s the plural of Pekingese? I should know—I arrived as one of five! (Turns out, the plural is the same as the singular.) Our person’s own health concern meant she could no longer care for us, so we’re here—a mix of colors, genders, ages and weights, each of us needing a new loving home. I’m a shy, 3-year-old white female, 12-1/2 pounds. I’ve gotten along with my litter mates and my person said I was gentle and tolerant, but I’ve not been around children. Being in a crate is familiar to me, but going on a walk is brand new! Once I get used to the leash, I’m finding a big beautiful world out there. And the best thing in that world? For me, that would be a happy life with you!

Hi… my name is Jade,

Adopted with Chubaca 6-2-17

What’s the plural of Pekingese? I should know—I arrived as one of five! (Turns out, the plural is the same as the singular.) Our person’s own health concern meant she could no longer care for us, so we’re here—a mix of colors, genders, ages and weights, each of us needing a new loving home. I’m a handsome 2-1/2-year-old white male, (the youngest of our little group), right at 15 pounds. According to my person, I’ve lived with senior citizens, but I’ve never been around children. Being in a crate is familiar, but going on a walk is brand new to me! Once I understand the leash part, I’m finding it’s a big beautiful world out there. And for me, the best thing in that world would be a happy life with you!
