There aren’t enough animal shelters in the world to go around for needy animals, and when one closes, it just makes things harder for everyone. Fortunately, TALGV is able to take some of us in when they have space, so I’m happy to report that several of my compatriots and I are now safe and looking for that elusive “forever” home. The wonderful lady who brought me here said, “Emmett is a healthy, strong boy who is a very loving, nice kitty but wants to be leader of the pack, so should probably be an only child. He lived outside in the front entry so would love to have some extra TLC.” Well, I’m here to second that motion and tell you I’ll be eternally grateful if you’ll do that for me!

I am SO disappointed! I’d been here since 2016, and was FINALLY adopted by a wonderful lady who wanted a laid back cat she and her dog could travel with, and I sure thought I’d died and gone to heaven! I guess the fact that I’m back here tells you things didn’t work out, as I was terrified of the dog – we tried, but it just wasn’t to be, and now that I’ve had a taste of life in a real home, I’m doubly sad. I’d like to be your one and only (no other cats and certainly no dogs!), so won’t you give me a chance to remember how great human-only company can be?

After I’d been with them basically my whole life (almost 2 years), my people had to move to a no-dogs-allowed place. I was suddenly all on my own, feeling shy, even scared at first. Fortunately, my former people left some info about me. They said I was good with kids and liked other animals—I’ve lived with a Chihuahua and cats, love playing fetch and water hose games. And the best news for me? Turns out they like me here at TALGV! They say I’m a great dog who’s going to make someone a fun and loyal companion, which sounds terrific to me. I’m a handsome Staffie mix male, about 54 pounds, and you can see in my eyes how much I want to be with you. Could today be the day we go home together?

“Landlord issues” and “moving” often don’t spell happiness for pets! When my dad had to move, my two best canine friends (a Staffie and a Chihuahua) and I had to move on,too, but unfortunately not with him. Dad said that the Chihuahua was “my baby” so I’ll bet that I’d do fine in a home with another small friend to nurture (in addition to you, of course!). I’m keeping a low profile for a while (change is hard for cats, you know), but I know in a new home, I’ll be ruling the roost in no time.
