My name is Precious Girl; that’s what my mom called me all my life. Since she died, I travelled a few rocky roads before arriving at TALGV, so now I’m doing my best to appreciate that I’m entering a new chapter of my life. I’m a little cautious around people at the moment, as I’m still never sure whether I’ll have to move on again. The volunteers assure me that that’s not the case though, so with each day that passes, I’m starting to regain my old “precious” persona. At the venerable age of 17, I have free vet care for life, so I’m thinking there’s nothing stopping you from giving me a comfy bed, a warm lap, and lots of love to see me through my golden years.

Everyone loves newborns don’t they? Well, cats are no exception, but in my case, my housemate, NeNe, and I were a little too enthusiastic about spending time with the newest family member, and despite the fact that we’d already “raised” a 2-year-old, our mom worried that something might happen, so we’re hoping that we can share our life’s worth of experiences with another family. At 15 (which qualifies me for free vet care for life), I’m still a happy, affectionate gentleman who loves people, tolerates a dog (but mom said I’d prefer not to have the attention!), and of course gets along great with NeNe. I’m very vocal and love feather toys and strings, so I’m ready made for a life creating new memories with you!

I can be a very well-behaved fellow, and I’m also a lively, energetic dog who can play like there’s no tomorrow! My rescuer found me near a casino, just walking down the street alone. He took me home that night and gave me food and water; I was too thin when found, so his kindness was much appreciated. He said I was okay being with his shepherd mix dog, and already knew some commands, like “sit,” “paw,” and “lay down.” After coming to TALGV, I’ve enjoyed hearing the volunteers say my handsome appearance makes me look dignified, but please remember that I’m playful, too, and love to have fun. I’m an 18-month-old Staffie mix male, tan and white, 50+ pounds, who’s eager to give all the best parts of me to you!

How did I become lost? We don’t know. Fortunately, I’m a forward-looking kind of dog, so I’m focused on the future, the happy day when I have a home with someone wonderful like you! What kind of canine companion will I be? Well, I’m good with lots of activities—walking, playing, running, I can usually keep up! People also say I’m clever, alert and brave—I hope you think those are good qualities, too. But, most of all, I need to find a place in your heart. Sunny

SUNNY is a playful and smart 55-pound 2-year-old Shepherd/ Husky mix who needs a new home as rescuer is unable to keep her. She has a beautiful white coat, is housebroken, and asks to go out. She is spayed, is up to date with shots, and is microchipped. Sunny walks on leash, knows “back” and “wait” and is working on other commands and house manners, but she learns quickly when treats are rewarded. She is a bit slow to warm up but wants to be friendly with people. Sunny needs lots of exercise and a secure fenced-in yard is advisable; she would do best with another dog of same size to play with but can be protective of owner. There is no adoption fee for this special girl.

Humans can be pretty hard to understand sometimes! My family (mom, pop, kids, and dog) moved out of state a while back and left my sister, Kami, and me in the yard! We’d all gotten along so well, so I said, “Hey guys, you forgot us,” but I guess they didn’t hear me. Fortunately, the neighbors minded us for a while (they said, “They came to us for love and food,”) but they couldn’t keep us, so now we’re looking for a family that will cherish us for the sweethearts we are (and never, ever dream of leaving us behind!). I’m a 5-month-old tuxedo boy who’d love to stay with my sister, but if not, I’ll be happy to grace your life alone.

My adorable sister, Cher, and I were adopted three months ago, when we were 3-month-old puppies, but that didn’t work out. The people said we were too active, so I’ll be completely upfront in telling you I am an active 6-month-old puppy. I love playing with my sister and our toys, I’m curious about the world around me, and have the energy and eagerness to learn good-dog things to please you! My person was very sad to let me go, but her own health issue couldn’t be ignored. We’d been together my whole life, so it’s been a major change for me. I’ve been scared and lonely, but now I understand that “home” will be a new place. I’m a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix female, and I’m expecting a nice long future with my new someone, maybe even more love and fun than I could imagine!
