Hi… my name is Skippy,
Adopted January 23, 2016
For a young guy, I’ve had my share of experiences and may be a little shy at first, but soon I could be your “love bug!” That’s what my best human friend at TALGV calls me. She says it’s ‘cause I love to cuddle; I’m not much of a talker but will stand between your legs just to make petting easier. When I’m super happy, I wiggle, but will settle quickly. I’m learning all the basics, those important human-dog communications, and gladly work for treats and toys (especially the soft squeaky ones). Already I walk well on a gentle leader, I’m crate trained, and love to jog. I’m medium to large in size and they say I’m a classically handsome black Lab, but what I want to be is your BFF, Best Friend Forever.

My dog friend, Petals, and I had apparently been lost for some time because when we were found, we were extremely hungry and thirsty. I’m so grateful to the kind person who gave us food and water, and rescued us from the road. Our time with her was brief, but long enough to show her that I’m a very friendly fellow, who was great with her friend’s 5-year-old son. That was fun, and now I’m ready to meet another someone special—someone who wants a good-natured, friendly canine companion for the long haul! I’m a Shepherd mix male, about 2-1/2 years old, a honey brown color mixed with black and white. I’ll be a great addition to almost any household, so how about you tell TALGV we want to meet each other today!

My dog friend, Maxwell, and I had apparently been lost for some time because when we were found, we were extremely hungry and thirsty. We were so grateful when a kind person gave us food and water, and rescued us from the road. In our short time together, she could tell that I’m a very friendly dog, and I was great with her friend’s 5-year-old son. Being with them was a sweet taste of how great it will be when I’m part of my own family forever, and I promise to be a great addition to almost any household. I’m a gorgeous, 1-year-old Shepherd/Retriever mix female, white with some touches of brown, including velvet brown ears. Won’t you please make today my luckiest day ever and tell TALGV we want to get together soon!

The TALGV volunteers say I’m such a sweet and affectionate guy, they don’t even want to think about those lonely days when I was lost and wounded. I agree! Instead, let’s talk about how I was rescued and brought to TALGV. Here, they’ve taken care of me and recognized what a great dog I am. I’m fun-loving and “tuned in” to my human friends, eager to make that dog-and-person connection. They say they can see it in my eyes, which I imagine is true because I’m completely focused on the person being kind to me. I’m a 2-year-old, 61-pound Staffie mix male, mainly white with some really cool black markings, especially around one eye (kind of like Petey in Little Rascals), and I would truly love to start a happy new chapter with you.

Hi… my name is Mookie,
Adopted December 13, 2015
There were lots of other dogs where I came from, and although we were welcome, there just wasn’t enough room for me, my sister, and dad. So we came to TALGV, where I’m learning lots of good things—like how to walk on a leash, and what great friends those critters called humans can be! And while playing and running are easy, I’m still slow to warm up to people. But please don’t let my shyness stand in our way. My biggest dream is to be wanted and loved. If you have room in your heart and home for me, I’ll thank you every day by being your sweet, loyal companion. I’m a 1-year old Beagle/Lab mix female, about 35 pounds; stunningly beautiful in black, white, and brown, and hoping to see you today.

For two waifs who were abandoned by their people, my friend (and maybe brother), Pewter, and I are downright relaxed felines! Our family left us in the yard when they moved away in mid-October, so the neighbors cared for us for a while, but when it became obvious no one was coming back for us, they brought us here to be sure we’d stay safe. I’m a charming 2-year-old black and white lady, in excellent health and am just as easygoing and affectionate as can be. Given our delightful personalities, it’s hard to see how anyone could have foregone our company, but that opens up a whole new world of possibilities for us and for you. The holidays are right around the corner, so let’s spend them together!

Even lost and injured, I was my own sweet self. That’s what the man said who rescued me from Circle K. They said I stayed close for a few days and would just curl up by the door and wait. Maybe it was because of the wound on my leg that needed stitches. Anyway—and thank goodness!—he brought me to TALGV. Here, my wound was tended and has healed, and I’ve made friends with some great dogs and people. I have those Heeler qualities of being smart, loyal and energetic, and the volunteers say sweetness is my strong suit. I sure hope that helps me find someone to love. I’m a 1-year-old female, 39 pounds, with a gorgeous brindle and white coat. Could you take me home and change my life forever?
