Hi… my name is Trouble,

Adopted February 6, 2016

No, I don’t live up to my name! My given name was “Boots” but my first family called me “Trouble” because I sometimes liked to unravel toilet paper rolls (I understand that that hobby isn’t totally unique to me!). After my dad died, mom couldn’t care for me alone any longer, so I came to TALGV in 2014. Another family adopted me shortly afterward, but they though I was a bit too independent for them (they said I didn’t like to be hugged or come when called — not very “catlike” things anyway!). I’m a 2-year-old declawed tabby and white boy who’s active, affectionate, curious, and loves to play with toys on strings. So if you’re looking for entertainment, a purry friend, and don’t mind a few shredded TP rolls, then I’m your guy!

Hi… my name is Curly.

Adopted July 7, 2015

I’ve heard of dogs being abandoned in the desert but never at an obedience school! I might not have been the star of the show, but I couldn’t possibly have been that bad! Well, since that day two years ago when my mom rescued me (and recently had to relinquish me because of her health), I’ve learned most of the things that I was supposed to back then. I totally love kids and people (but I still need training on getting along with other dogs — see below*), so with my outstanding people skills, excellent house manners, and penchant for laps (at 20 pounds I’m just about perfect!). I know there’s another loving home in my future, so this 3-year-old Poodle mix boy is just waiting here for that to come along!

Hi… my name is Diane.

Adopted June 8, 2015

After I was found, the volunteers were scratching their heads wondering what breed I was because there was “something familiar” about me. Turns out I look just like a Canaan dog, the national dog of Israel, and although probably not pure bred, here’s what the AKC says about me: “The Canaan Dog is blessed with an endearing and responsive personality, loves her family, and is adaptable to many living situations. Life in an apartment with several short daily walks is as agreeable as living in a suburban home with a yard and noisy kids. While this breed is active, its energy level isn’t excessive, and they make wonderful companion dogs.” So that’s pretty much me — about 3 years old, 33 pounds and perfect for anyone!

Hi… my name is Prince.

Adopted August 15, 2015

When I arrived in late 2014, it was actually a good thing that the Sahuarita police picked me up for “vagrancy” because I was running in the middle of the intersection of Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard and Pima Mine Road, and that’s a pretty dangerous place for a canine! Since I was already neutered, I guess I had belonged to someone at one time. I was adopted in November 2014,  but now I need to find another family to shower my affection on. I’m a magnificent white Siberian husky/shepherd mix with one blue and one brown eye, and I totally adore people. All I ask out of life is attention, an active family, and a place to call my own forever. That’s not too much is it?

Hi… my name is Candy Cane.

One wonders why people move to places that don’t allow their much-loved pets! Okay, I guess there are always those old “extenuating circumstances,” but that still leaves us loyal companions wondering if we did something wrong! In my case, I’d lived with my family (and a cat that scared the very devil out of me!) for four of my eight years, and they said I was a loving lap dog who wants nothing more in life than your love and attention. I’m an adorable tan and white Chihuahua girl who knows lots of commands (no, sit, stay, come, and “go bye bye” — love those car rides!), can use a doggie door, and, if I do say so myself, am perfect in every way! So why not let me be perfect for YOU?

Hi… my name is Kandy Kiss.

Adopted May 9, 2015

During the short time I stayed with my rescuers, they said that I was a very sweet little girl who got along with their other cat and was even good with their (gentle, kitten-savvy!) young kids. They found me wandering in the Santo Tomas neighborhood, and said that although I was a little shy, that was probably only because I’d been dodging critters and prickly things alone in the desert for a while (that is a very scary, ouchy place!). They didn’t have a dog, but being just a youngster, I’m infinitely adaptable, so like with kids, if you have a canine that’s respectful of cats I’d probably be okay with it too. I’m a darling 4-month-old, medium-haired, black and white girl just yearning for a safe, warm lap to snuggle in.

Hi… my name is Lisa.

Adopted August 22, 2015

My sister, Mona, and I appeared one day in the yard of a home in Sahuarita Heights and stayed around to play with the resident Shih Tzu and the tribe of kids who lived there. The owners fed us outside while they tried to find our owner, but when that didn’t happen after two weeks, decided that we needed more “exposure” to potential adopters so we could find new homes. They said that we were beautiful, playful, happy youngsters who need a good-sized yard and lots of attention, play time, and someone with “puppy-patience.” They’re calling us Whippet mixes, but we have “Shar-Pei-like” ears, so who knows? We’re just a happy amalgam of something! All you need to know is that we’re cute, sweet, and, best of all, available!
