Thanks for looking at my pictures. Please come back soon to see my story… but meantime you might want to come over to TALGV to meet me. My foster mom says I’m a fast learner and a very good boy!

Hi… my name is Peaches.
I was adopted March 19, 2014.
My girlfriend (and maybe sister), Cream, and I were snatched from the middle of Frontage Road near Los Arroyos just in the nick of time before being hit by a car. To say that we were frightened is the understatement of the year, but now that we’ve been brought to safety at TALGV, we’re beginning to show our gratitude for that rescue by coming out of shells more each day. We’re tiny, “sort of” wire-haired terrier mix girls (with maybe a wee bit of Mexican hairless thrown in?), and it would be so wonderful if we could stay together in a new home. I can pretty much promise that we will be “Velcro” dogs because neither of us wants to ever have to deal with such trauma again! Won’t you make our dreams come true by giving us a new lease on life?

Here I am up front: “LOTS of energy!” But since I’m probably under 2 years old, there’s a still lot of puppy “going on!” Since I was found roaming the grounds at La Posada, there isn’t a lot of information about me other than that (except that I’m a pretty sociable guy)! I was adopted by a gentleman shortly after I arrived, but after two days he said I was “too active” for him, so I’m here once again with my paws crossed that there’s an equally active family out there that would be happy to channel my energy into obedience and maybe even agility training. I’m an über-handsome, red and white Basenji mix (and not a whole lot of “mix” they think), and as the AKC says, we’re “…athletic dogs, who are alert, energetic, curious and sometimes reserved with strangers.” Well, we’re all individuals, so why not come see if we’re a match?

When our mom died recently, there was no one who could take my brother, Simon, and me in, so true to its mission TALGV came to the rescue. We’re both pretty disoriented right now as things have been awfully topsy-turvy for us for a while, but I’m sure once we get our “sea legs” under us we’ll return to our usual outgoing, people-loving selves. I’m a charming, shorthaired tabby and white lady, and I lived with my single mom for three years (no one is quite sure where I was before then). During that time, kids of all ages visited the house, and I was okay with them, but basically I led a fairly quiet life enjoying the company of mom and Simon (who I really hope I can stay with!), so I have high hopes that there’s a kind soul out there who will give us both a third chance at life.

For someone who was living on the streets for months (or longer, no one really knows), I sure am a lover! When I first arrived, I was in pretty sad shape. I had dirty ears, a scratched nose, a broken tooth, a sore on my left leg, scabs on my head, and was in dire need of a bath. But, baby, look at me now! It’s amazing what good vet care and lots of TLC will do for a fellow! I’m an outgoing orange and white guy, and they say that I’m a very sweet, social guy who loves to be picked up, held, and petted (I understand lots of cats don’t like that too much, but boy, I just LOVE it!). I’m better with adults than kids though, so if you’re lonely and have a spot for me on your lap and in your heart, I want to meet you right now!

Hi… my name is Alaka,
Adopted May 8, 2016
Sometimes when dogs go “walkabout” it’s for a reason! The people whose yard I jumped into saw me running in their neighborhood for a month and knew my owners, but apparently they couldn’t be bothered with me so I went looking for love in other places. I’m a young, Staffie boy and although there isn’t much I can tell you about my history, the volunteers say that I am sweetness itself and will bond very easily with my new people. I walk well on a leash and am learning other good stuff, so I know that I’ll be a wonderful addition to a family that wants to have me a BIG part of their lives. I’m probably an “only child” kind of companion — I really love humans, but am not thrilled with other four-legged creatures — so if you want a guy who is going to stick to you like glue, I’m the one for you!

Hi… my name is Pee Wee.
Adopted May 5, 2014.
The people who adopted me recently had a TON of good things to say about me (you can read all about it at TALGV), but since I didn’t get along with their resident dog, they regretfully had to bring me back. But the bottom line is I’m a happy, active cream-colored Chihuahua boy who loves to play with toys, chew on bones, and, more than anything else, to sit in your lap and sleep with you. I know those all-important commands “sit, stay, and potty” (not all at once though!), have perfect leash manners, and love “big” people (I’ve never been around little kids), so all I need is a new person that I can shower my affection on and I’ll be “good to go.”
