On Sunday, March 3, 2019, The Animal League of Green Valley held their annual Blessing of the Animals. Officiating was Father Dan Messier.

Excerpts from Introduction: “We do not bless animals to make them holy. We bless them because they are holy and worthy of blessing. St. Francis believed that all nature reflected God, that you could see the beauty of God in all creation. … He loved all creatures great and small and treated them like family, just as we do our own pets.”

Shakespeare’s Room was dedicated in March  2018 to the memory of a shy, shiny white Turkish Angora/Maine Coon mix who went from TALGV in 2016 to live with Dr. Pamela Ritch, a TALGV volunteer. He was named for their favorite playwright as they enjoyed watching Richard III and Hamlet together. Pamela has provided this special cat visitation room in memory of her beloved Shakespearean feline and dedicated to all cats who enter his room in search of a forever home.

Photos were taken at the dedication ceremony held on March 17, 2018.
