My Animal League friends say I arrived on Valentine’s Day because I’m a sweetheart. (They pet me as they say that, so it’s nice for me.) When found, I was a stray dog “full of stickers,” and my kind finders took care of that. They also let me play with their dogs, adult male golden retrievers, and we got along well. Indeed, they said that while with them, I enjoyed playing with other dogs. As for manners, I didn’t specifically ask to go outside, but did go outside, so that’s good. I’m strong—a 2-year-old, 53-pound Boxer mix male—so best to have a strong hand on my leash. And, honestly, I am a sweetheart who loves sweet people. If that makes us a happy match, I hope we can go home together real soon.

Even though I don’t have a home right now, I’m a happy, hopeful dog. After all, I was once lost, running loose and almost hit by a car, when strangers stepped up to rescue me. Good things do happen! And while I’m watching and hoping for my forever someone, I’m making friends here—I peacefully shared my run with another dog, and the volunteers compliment me for being attentive, affectionate, and lots of fun. A young adult (born in 2016), and slender (about 46 pounds), I’m an energetic, tan and white Boxer/Staffie mix male who equally loves playtime and belly rubs followed by naps. But when the time came to say goodbye, well, I don’t pretend to understand that, and when I came here, I was scared and even trembling a little. Then things got better. I started to relax, let more of the real me shine through, and soon people were bragging about what a great companion I’ll be—a happy dog who’s fun-loving, good at playing ball, and appreciates people in my own sweet, loving way.
