Hi… my name is Thelma,

Adopted 12-15-20

I am a young, sweet and gentle soul who loves to be petted, sit next to you on the sofa and be near you whenever I can. I also Iike to play games and take walks. My foster mom says I am easy to have around and have learned several commands like sit, stay, come and stop. I have one brown and one blue eye. According to Native American legend it means I can see both heaven and earth and that makes me a natural protector. I know how to use the doggie door when I have to go potty. I’ve gotten along with big and small people alike and I also like other dogs. I love to meet new people and when you come to visit me, I’ll greet you with lots of kisses.

Hi… my name is Toni,

Adopted 12-6-20

When I first arrived at TALGV, I was a little nervous and shy, but I’m quickly gaining confidence. Since arriving here, I seem to feel more secure and trusting. I know the command “sit” and I know how to use the doggie door. I enjoy my walks and even though I pull a little, I do well on a leash. People here think I’m friendly and affectionate. I’m also inquisitive and love looking out the window because I don’t want to miss ANYTHING! If you feel the time is right for you to open your heart to a nosy, four-legged family member, please call and make an appointment. Since I’m inquisitive, I’m already wondering how long it will take you to get here!

Hi… my name is Southland,

Adopted 9-19-20

I am a young Rottie/Heeler girl of medium size. When you first meet me, I act a bit shy, but give me a few minutes and you will see the gentle, loving side of me. Just look at my eyes! I have been around small children and they say I was good with them and also that I behaved well when I was left alone in the yard. I still need to learn a few things, like how to tell you when I need to go potty and how to walk better on a leash. I would really like to go home with someone who can help me become more confident and show me that I don’t need to be afraid of strangers. If that is you, will you come to meet me soon?

Hi… my name is Lexi,

Adopted 7-25-20

Did I hear someone mention BALL? I love chasing a ball and playing catch all day and that’s the reason I’m at TALGV. My people are moving into a small apartment without a much-needed yard. I lived with another dog and a cat and even though we got along, I may need some socializing when I’m introduced to new dogs. I’ve had some training and I can sit and stay. I understand the meaning of outside and treat. I’m crate trained and I can use a doggie door. My leash training is a work in progress and I’m being taught how to accept treats gently, like a lady. Please consider calling TALGV to make an appointment for us to meet and maybe, if you want, we can even toss a few balls.

Hi… my name is Loco,

Adopted 12-12-20

When I first arrived at TALGV with my friend and roommate, Fry, I was overweight and a little lazy. Now, since being in foster, I’ve lost a lot of weight, and I’m full of energy. Even though I like playing outside, I’m still a couch potato who loves to cuddle. I’m a smart and funny boy that’s house-trained, loves to ride in cars and go for walks. I’m good with children, cats, and most other dogs. I suffer from anxiety and I calm myself by sucking on pillows, without ever ripping them. Although Fry and I are great friends, we are ready now to be separately adopted for our forever homes. Please call to arrange a visit.

Hi… my name is Estrella,

Adopted 7-1-20

My name means “star,” and in this case that comes in the form of an adorable 7-year-old Lab mix girl. The lady I previously lived with thought I was a little more “dog” than she could handle. I can sit when treats are involved, and it seems I know the command “leave it” when distracted. My foster Mom said that I love people and like most dogs. I’m house trained, use the doggie door, and walk well on a leash. I like car rides, but I don’t behave well when I see people and dogs on the sidewalk, so we’re working on that little problem. Some basic obedience training would be helpful. Please consider letting me become the star that could brighten your home and your life.

Hi… my name is Bella,

Adopted 3-8-20

High Five! A nice lady found me and brought me to TALGV. I stayed with her and her two dogs for a couple of weeks, but we found I did not like sharing with her other girl dog. I did get along fine with my finder’s male dog, though. The first thing you notice are my big radar ears, then my pretty brown and white pinto coat. I am housebroken, know all the common commands, and play fetch. I have impeccable leash manners, so just say the word and I’ll jump in the car to go for a hike with you. I have a bit of an alpha personality, so I’m picky about my dog friends and probably prefer to be an only dog, or perhaps share with a submissive male dog. But I do so love playing with people. I’m pretty laid back, even here in this strange environment. Come on down and say Hi, so we can work out a deal and shake on it.

Hi… my name is Lula (aka Libra),

Adopted 3-1-20

When I was only nine weeks old, I was brought to TALGV with my four “litter-sisters,” and we were all adopted. Now that I’m back, I would like to tell you a little about myself. In my previous home there were five children, ranging in ages from 1 to 13. There were also two other dogs and although I got along well with one of them, for some reason, not the other. It was reported that I’m leash and crate trained. My former family said I’m loving, playful, loyal, and know how to listen. I also know the commands “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” I’m just a three-year-old- girl that needs a lot of love along with positive reinforcement. Now you know my story, please come in and meet me, and maybe I can become part of your story.
