If I had to choose one word to introduce myself, it would be playful! I just love to play and I’m real good at it. I spent a week with the person who found me running in The Villages of Green Valley and she described me as friendly, eager to learn and please. It helps that I already know “sit,” “come,” and “no.” With some of my human friends, I’ll hold up my paw to “shake,” and sometimes when you talk to me, my ears perk up to make me just a little handsomer. I get along well with some other dogs, but I am not used to cats. And did I mention that I like to play? I’m an exceptionally friendly, brindle Boxer mix boy.

Other dogs have lost their homes due to the dreaded D word, and now me, too. My parents divorced and so I’m looking for my new home. I’ve got great qualifications – I like being with other friendly dogs and have lived with cats; I’m gentle with kids, have good house manners, not a big barking gal, leash trained, and have what humans call “an even temperament.” Sound good? Well, here’s what I really want to tell you: I like companionship and, if I do say so myself, I’m good at it. I like to hike, run, go for car rides, and, most of all, I love having a home. I’m a 45-pound black lab mix female, sometimes a little shy at first, but I just know we could be friends…and maybe family!

I’m a happy guy who’s looking for someone to share the good times. People say I’m smart and that’s great, but it turned out I was “too much” for the senior community where I was living and so now I’m here, ready to make new friends. I’m a 4-year-old male, warm tan with white markings, and one look in my big brown eyes will tell you that I’ve got lots of love to give. As a Lab/Shepherd mix, I have good qualities from both breeds—I’m a loyal, playful fellow who really enjoys the company of people. When I was found 2-1/2 years ago (back when I was 6 months old), my finders already had dogs. We tried, but, unfortunately, we could not get along. In my next home, I should be the only dog. I’m a 3-year-old, lovely brown hound mix female, currently weighing in at about 52 pounds on my slender frame. Some of my favorite things are eating carrots, (yeah, carrots!), playing ball, and being with people. I love being with people so much, sometimes when we’re together, I look like I’m trying to smile. I already know “sit,” “come,” and “down,” and I am very familiar with walking on a leash. If you have room in your heart for a single lady like me, I’d love to be your one and only hound dog!

Sheba

Adopted by rescuers October 15, 2015

SHEBA is a highly-trainable, affectionate, 3-year-old, 85-pound shepherd mix that was rescued by her owners as a stray about 6 months ago. She does not fit into her owners’ established pack and they need to find a new home for her. She is spayed and shots are up to date (medical records available). Owners believe Sheba should be an only-dog since she is protective of her food with other dogs, but she does get along with cats; kids are unknown. Sheba loves people and usually has excellent manners. There is a concern about her behavior in a new environment since she can be unhappy with change, so it is important that her new owner have the time and patience to help her adjust. A 6’ wall or fence is recommended. She is easy-going, has a moderate energy level, and walks well on leash. I ain’t nothing but a hound dog…..a sweet, playful, lots-of-love-to-give hound dog girl! Well, actually, I’m a hound mix, mixed with what we don’t know, but my TALGV friends say it must have been somebody beautiful and sweet because those are characteristics I inherited. I’m solid black, currently 21 pounds, and just 3-1/2 months old, so still a playful and energetic pup. The people who found me said I am gentle and tolerant, too. They let me stay in their house when they were gone and told me I was good, especially when I “asked” to go outside. Those kind people found me in the Los Arroyos neighborhood behind Walmart, right at their front door. Guess I did a good job of choosing my rescuers, and now I’m hoping you will choose me!

When I was found running on Sahuarita and Colossal Cave Road, I wasn’t there for the exercise! I was a puppy alone in a great big world. On 7/7, a lucky day for me, my kind rescuer stopped and picked me up. I’m a 27-pound Pointer mix and only about 6 months old, so I’d say I’m the perfect age: Young enough to be adorable and old enough to be ready to learn. The humans here at TALGV think I’m lots of fun—a sweet young girl who is playful and has already peacefully shared a place with another young dog. I’m hoping you like my distinctive brindle and white coat, and my eager-to-please personality. If you visit me and we like each other, maybe that will be my luckiest day ever!
