Hi… my name is Casey,

Adopted May 21, 2016

Casey has received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and he has also learned how to carry a backpack (which will be part of his going-home packet).

You don’t see too many Chesapeake Bay retrievers here in Arizona, much less in shelters! I suppose I’m not a purebred though because their coats are curlier than mine, but I’ve got the same personality traits (happy, intelligent, gentle, tolerant, and active!). I wandered onto the property of a family in Sahuarita to play with their female Staffie, and “just stuck around.” They said I was a very sweet guy who got along great with their 7-year-old daughter, and loved to play “tug-of-war” with a rope. So trust me, if you’re looking for a big, happy-go-lucky companion, you’ll find that the folks in Maryland knew what they were doing when they chose me as their state dog!

Hi… my name is Champ.

Adopted My 10, 2015

Champ has received his AKC  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.

After the police found me on Sahuarita Road, my owner was traced through my chip, but never responded, so here’s what the TALGV volunteers said about that: “We can’t understand why Champ’s owner never came back for him because he’s a real charmer!” I was a little rough around the edges when I arrived, but now — drum roll, please — I’m especially proud to say I’ve earned my nationally accredited Canine Good Citizen award! I get along with other dogs, have excellent leash manners, and simply will do anything for your affection and attention! So there you have it. Someone out there is missing out on one very special dog with tons of potential! I’d love it if this 2-year-old were on your radar!

Arrived January 3, 2015.

Adopted December 29, 2014.

Bailey is a cute, sweet, and gentle 15-pound, 2 1/2-year-old male wire-haired Yorkie/Doxie mix who needs a new home because his owner died recently. He loves people and warms up to strangers quickly, likes other dogs (is sometimes a bit shy around large dogs), is good with cats and kids. He is learning to walk on leash and knows sit. He likes chasing and retrieving his ball. Bailey is completely house trained, can use a doggie door or asks to go out. He is healthy, is neutered, and all shots are up to date. Monthly grooming is advised. Current foster would keep Bailey but already has 5 dogs and 2 cats. There is no adoption fee

If you will welcome this sweet boy into a loving home as part of your family, please call Ron between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-625-3285 (leave message).

Hi… my name is Merry.

Adopted January 29, 2015.

After visiting the ophthalmologist, they determined that I’m blind and probably have been for quite a while. The doctor said that I’d need eye drops for life to keep my eyes comfortable (but that shouldn’t be an issue since at 10 years of age I come with FREE Vet Care for Life — and eye drops are easy!).  My “disability” doesn’t bother me at all, and I adore walks and am an “excellent lap sitter”!  I was fostered for a few days and found my way around the house just fine.  I should really be an only dog, and everyone agrees I’d be perfect for an older person. My “personal classified ad” might read: “senior dog seeking senior human for companionship!” Why not let it be you?

Merry comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

Arrived December 8, 2014.
