COOKIE is a cute and sweet 2-year-old terrier mix who was left behind with her pups when tenants moved away from rental home. New family is unable to keep her but recommend her to a family with children over 6. Other dogs and cats are unknown. She knows sit and come and may be housebroken but spends her time outside now. Her shots are up to date and she will have a certificate for spay courtesy of TALGV. She is healthy and would love to share your company and the warmth of your home on these cold winter days and nights. There is no adoption fee for Cookie.

If you would welcome Cookie into a loving home as part of your family, please call Oralia between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-271-9509.

LOLA (A) is a sweet, highly-socialized, well-behaved 8-year-old Shepherd mix who needs a new home with a family that has more time for her. She is good with all children as young as 2 years and is very good with cats and other dogs (she is lonely without her former companion). She is a quiet girl who enjoys lots of love and attention and would sit by your side all day. Lola is fully housebroken and knows many commands. She weighs about 45 pounds and has been spayed but does need to be updated on her shots (medical records available). Lola has lost her right rear leg following two incidents: first she was shot by someone doing target practice and then she was hurt defending her puppy companion from javelinas. Since one of her family members has many allergies, Lola now spends most of her time in the yard (coming inside on cold nights). There is no adoption fee.

If you will welcome Lola into a loving home as part of your family, please call Angie between 8 AM and 8 PM at 1-520-619-1055.

Hi… my name is Maddie.

Adopted November 28, 2014.

It’s always sad when a dog loses its home, but mine was so full of fun-loving kids (five of them ranging in age from 7 months to 5 years!) that I miss everyone doubly. A friend gave me to my family a year ago, and as the months passed, it became obvious that both mom and dad had serious allergies, which, unfortunately, included me. When I first arrived here I was really despondent over my loss, but the volunteers are being SO extra-sweet to me that I’m coming out of my shell more each day. I’m a warm and huggable Shar Pei and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix girl, who would love to find another dynamic family (preferably with a big yard!) that can help me “forget all my cares and woe”!

Hi… my name is Wendy.

Adopted December 12, 2014.

Anyone who’s ever had cholla cactus spines stuck on their fingers knows how utterly awful that is! Well, just imagine having them stuck on your lips and sides! That’s the condition I was in when I was rescued from the Interstate ramp in November. It took quite a bit of doing by the volunteers to get me all “unstuck,” so I’ve been a little “gun shy” ever since, but they’re being extra nice now to make up for it, and say it won’t be long before I forget that ordeal and get on with being a typical, people-loving lady. I’m a Chihuahua girl who, like most of my breed, has just one goal in life: to spend all of my time with my person for many years to come.

Hi… my name is Jack.

Adopted January 1, 2015.

When my mom and dad moved back east to care for aging grandparents, they decided not to take me with them because I wouldn’t get the time and attention I deserve. Although it might take a bit for me to get comfortable with new people, they said, “He is a ‘true love’ once he gets to know you and loves to play and give kisses.” I’m a handsome, leggy, young tan and white shepherd mix who enjoys dog parks and spending time in the house with you (I’m crate- and house-trained, walk fine on a leash, and know the basics of good deportment). Like most “teenagers,” I need a “job” to do to keep my lively mind occupied, so if you’re the active type, I am too — and we’d make beautiful music together!

Hi… my name is Aspen.

Adopted December 20 2014.

When my mom and dad moved back east to care for aging grandparents, they decided not to take me with them because I wouldn’t get the time and attention I deserve. They said, “He is a great family dog who loves to play and go for walks, is good with voice commands, and just needs a loving family.” I’m an impressive young Catahoula/shepherd mix who enjoys other dogs (but not cats!) and spending time in the house (or anywhere!) with you. I’m crate- and house-trained, walk fine on a leash, and know the basics of good deportment. Like most “teenagers,” I need a “job” to do to keep my lively mind occupied, so if you’re the active type, I am too — and I know we could make beautiful music together!

Hi… my name is Peanut.

Adopted December 8, 2014.

Yep, the name suits me! But at only 8 pounds, there’s a lot of love packed into this little body! It’s always hard to imagine little guys like me running down busy Nogales Highway, but that’s where I was found, so being in “The Den” at TALGV is about as adventurous as I want to be! The volunteers say that I just “love to be loved,” and that if anyone wants a Velcro lap dog, they couldn’t do better than me. I’m a perfect gentleman on my walks, doing “my thing” when I’m supposed to, and then I’m happy to get back here and have some serious lap time. I’m a young Chihuahua lover who has been here a while now, so I’m hopeful that the holidays will see me under someone’s tree!

Hi… my name is Holly Berry.

Adopted February 21, 2015

When the Sahuarita police found me wandering in Rancho Sahuarita, I was wearing a pink collar with a rabies tag but no other ID they could trace. So now’s your chance – grab me quick! My foster mom said that I am perfectly house-trained, walk nicely on a leash (when there are no rabbits or other dogs to check out!), and respond well to “no,” so since I’m eager to please, she’s certain I’ll be easy to train. I get along with other dogs, like riding in a car, and, well, I’m just an all-around real sweetheart! I’m an 18-month-old, 34-pound heeler mix who’s probably done most of her growing, so “what you see in what you get” and it’s a really great package too!

Denny was adopted offsite November 12, 2014.

DENNY is a very smart, energetic and sweet 45-pound 8-month-old shepherd mix who was rescued from the desert by people who have other pets and are unable to keep him. He is housebroken and asks to go out. He’s good on leash and has quickly learned the command “down.” He enjoys other dogs and young children but can be a bit shy of new people and things. Cats and crates are unknown. Denny pays close attention, is a fast learner and loves typical puppy playtime. He is healthy, neutered, and is up to date with shots. His coat is a beautiful black with white accents.

There is no adoption fee for this handsome boy.

If you will welcome Denny into a loving home as part of your family, please call Rene between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-331-6991.
