Hi… my name is Nova.

Adopted November 9, 2014.

My family adopted me a year ago from TALGV after I’d come in because I was jumping the fence to go exploring (well, I was left in the yard all day so was just looking for some fun!). My new people had me for a year, but since they were fostering several really young children they were worried that my “lust for life” was a bit too overwhelming for them. I’m a hound/shepherd mix guy who is affectionate, outgoing, and want to both give and get lots of love. I’m perfectly house-trained, walk well on a leash, and love squeaky toys (and kids!). I need some work on curbing my enthusiasm around people, but then I’ll be a companion with whom you’ll want to spend all your time (both indoors and out!).

Hi… my name is Angel.

Adopted October 2, 2014.

It’s amazing what miracles a little love and patience can work! I had been “living rough” in Arivaca for several months, relying on the kindness of strangers for food. After the volunteers rounded me up and brought me here I was pretty frightened for a while, but as the days have gone by, I’m finding that life (and the humans who go along with it) really can be grand and am coming out of my shell more each day seeking attention (I ADORE having my belly scratched!). I’m a charming Poodle and maybe Norfolk terrier mix girl, and if you spend some time sitting with me, you’ll see that all I really want is a safe home and a loving family that I can shower with loyalty and gratitude.

Hi… my name is Waylon.

Adopted October 10, 2014.

Three years old, ten pounds, and a Chihuahua — what more could you “little dog” lovers want? Everyone thought for sure my owners would come looking for me in a day or two after I’d been found in the Duval Safeway parking lot, but I’ve been here twiddling my paws for three weeks now and I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen! SO…all you need to know is that like all members of my breed, I’ll be good with families (if the children are gentle) and because of my small size, I don’t require a whole lot of exercise (well, some!) and minimal grooming. All I need are the “basics” of dog care: plenty of food, love, attention and a lap to call my own forever. C’mon, you KNOW that’s you!

Hi… my name is Wyatt,

Adopted February 25, 2016

Wyatt earned/received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification on July 6, 2015.

I’m Wyatt (like the Earp guy); a large, white Staffie mix bundle of joy! I love people (not cats) and will do almost anything to please my person. Plus, I’ve passed my Canine Good Citizen test and stay sharp with regular training tune-ups. My TALGV friends enjoy taking me to the Farmers’ Market and other events, and I love to strut my stuff on walks around Sahuarita Lake. Sometimes my person reminds me not to be too energetic in an exciting moment on my leash, and I mind that, as well as “leave it” for things I shouldn’t get too close to. My last kennelmate just got adopted, so I’m lonely, but you could make me happy again. Please let me show you what a super companion I’ll be once you call me yours.

Hi… my name is Monty.

Adopted November 16, 2014.

How can you resist this face? There seems to be an overabundance of lost “little guys” lately, and I’m sad to say that I’m a member of that not-so-lucky club. I AM lucky in that I ended up here, though, as had I not been rescued from Nogales Highway, I might not be around to promote myself! I’m a darling, young tan and white Chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier mix boy with a bit of salt and pepper around my nose. Since I’ve been living in an enclosure here in “The Den” at TALGV, it’s obvious that I’m perfectly crate-trained, so I’m sure my house manners will be exemplary. It’s also really special for me when people come to visit because I LOVE attention, so I promise to be the lap dog of your dreams when we’re together!

Hi… my name is Winkie.

Adopted November 9, 2014.

I’m sure you can guess how I got my name! A gentleman dropping off his trash found me “dumpster diving” and, smarty-pants that I am, I followed him home. I had a badly infected eye, so the vet removed it and gave me medicine to clear up some health problems (dumpster food isn’t the most nutritious in the world!). My foster mom says that I’m “getting the gist” of potty training, am “eating like a pig,” and having a blast playing with her other dogs and kids. I adore attention, being cuddled, sleeping with the kids, and am learning leash manners. I’m a sweet Lab mix girl about 3 months old and “all puppy,” so my dreams are filled with thoughts of having my own family, a yard, and maybe another canine playmate to share life’s joys.

Hi… my name is Pinta.

Adopted February 27, 2015

It’s been an exciting few months for me I can tell you! When I first arrived at TALGV I was frightened, hungry, and had several wounds that needed tending, so I’ve spent my time recovering from all that distress. Well, now I’m happy to say I’ve been living with a foster family for a while, and they say that although I’m still a bit shy, I’m very friendly, love affection (and attention!), and love playing with their two dogs. They think that I’ve probably lived in a home once, as I’m totally housebroken and take a shot at the sofa once in a while (didn’t work, but I got a cushy dog bed instead!). I’m a svelte young heeler/shepherd mix who yearns for a settled home where I can feel secure. Pinta passed her American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification test with flying colors on February 16, 2015. Many thanks to her foster parent for assisting with this important training.

Hi… my name is Titan.

Adopted September 28, 2014.

My pictures make me look a lot bigger than I am (especially since they think I’ve got a bit of Mastiff or maybe St. Bernard in me!), but I only weigh about 45 pounds, so you get “the look” without the gigantic size! I was found running with another dog on River Road in Rio Rico so your guess is as good as mine as far as my life before TALGV. But the volunteers say that I’m a gentle, shy, loving guy who just wants to be someone’s constant companion. If you’re familiar with my “guessed-at” breeds, you’ll know that we’re “extremely gentle, friendly and very tolerant, patient, obedient, extremely loyal, eager and willing to please.” (Sounds sort of like the Boy Scout motto doesn’t it?) At any rate, please come meet me and see for yourself!
