Things have been a bit confusing for me lately, so I sometimes growl when people want to take a toy from me or tell me what not to do. But who is in a good mood all the time? The nice man who brought me to TALGV said that I got along well with children and also did fine with his three dogs. While at his house, I responded well to commands, told him when I had to go potty, and behaved like a champ when I had to stay alone! Now I am looking to find a forever home of my own. I was found with my sister, Penelope, dropped off on a road in the middle of nowhere. Our foster family brought us to their home, and we were greeted with love and affection. Unlike my sister, I took a little more time to warm up to all these new people. I am an 8-week-old Heeler/Terrier mix girl that is a ball of energy. My family says I’m pretty mischievous and curious about the world around me. They have started to train me but I still have lots to learn. I love to play every day and especially love balls. I’m an exuberant, 2-year-old female Staffie mix. I’m a lucky girl to have been brought to TALGV after my former owner passed away. I have a sweet disposition with people, and that’s easy for me since I enjoy giving and receiving affection. I’m strong and full of energy, and can easily get excited, so I’ll need a strong person who can guide me in the right direction. Since I don’t get along with other dogs and tend to be possessive of my things, I should probably be an only dog. I can use a doggie door and walk well on a leash, and there’s probably so much more I can do. Time will tell! Another way to learn of my accomplishments is to take me into your home and find out yourself. Please say you’re willing… because I’m ready to go!

I’m a 2-year-old female Basset/Staffie mix and I’m looking for a home. I can use most doggie doors (I have short legs), and according to a volunteer I’m sweet and I “walk like a dream.” When I recently had a visitor, we had a long conversation about the situation I’m in. You know! No forever-home. We sat face to face and I patiently waited until she finished talking, then I replied with series of a soft, low howls. I don’t know if she understood me, but for some reason she thought that was adorable. What can I say, I AM adorable! You really need to meet me to appreciate me. With my mixed heritage I’ll double your pleasure, double your fun, and you will admit that I’m the one!

Merlin

Hi… my name is Merlin,

I am a medium-sized, young dog with a beautiful mahogany coat who is just coming into his own. My Labrador heritage gives me a laid back attitude whereas the Catahoula part of me is wary of unfamiliar people. When we first meet, I will hang back and check you out for a while until we become acquainted and, possibly, even best friends. The trainers here say that I am a smart fellow who learns quickly and that I respond well to corrections when walking on a leash. I tend to stay pretty calm even when the other dogs here run around barking excitedly. If you are an active person (or family!) with some patience to continue my training, let’s meet and see if we were meant to be best friends!
