Animal League News

Hi… my name is Kylo (aka Chase),

Adopted 2-19-22

Can you come and take me somewhere where I can run and play? I’ve been cooped up for awhile. It was a freak accident: I was having fun jumping around my kennel when all of a sudden my leg gave way. Would you believe it was broken? They put all kinds of pins and wires in there and then I got to live with my foster mom for awhile. That was pretty boring because I had to stay “calm,” but it was also nice! She says I’m loving and mostly obedient (although that’s not always my strong suit) and have learned to sit, come, and wait at the door. Maybe I’ll get to go home to a place with kids, so we can jump up and down together—and you know I would sure like that!

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

When I first arrived at TALGV my left eye looked so bad they took me to the veterinarian who performed necessary surgery and removed my eye. I’m doing quite well, thank you! I’m recuperating in a great foster home where my foster parent reports that I’m polite, well mannered, and a “pure joy” to have in the home. I’m very affectionate, love people, and I’ll happily welcome everyone. I  know the commands “sit,” “stay,” “shake,” and “no,” and walk very well on a leash. I can be curious about other dogs, and I have good manners with them. In fact you can ask the home’s resident dog, who’ll tell you that we get along great. When I’m ready to leave this home (with Vet Care Support for Life), I’ll be ready to  enter yours, so please put out your “WELCOME” mat for me!

Hi… my name is Aspen,

Adopted 10-16-21

You might say I was petrified! There I was, hiding under a parked car on Continental, when a kind lady rescued me and took me home. For a couple of weeks I enjoyed the company of her two dogs (German Shepherd and Boxer), and had fun playing in the grass and rubbing against the bushy plants. I also enjoyed my walks, relaxing rubs, and restful naps. I’m a  10-year-old Terrier/Shepherd mix who walks well on a leash and asks to go out. I’ve been described as a sweet, loving, “couch potato” who is well-behaved, calm and relaxed. Just imagine, with the cold winter just around the corner, you and I snuggled together (me sleeping, you drinking cocoa). Plus I come with Vet Care Support for Life, so take me home now and together we’ll plan our future.

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 9-3-21

Are you looking for a friendly, lovable buddy to hang out with? Then look no further than TALGV! Howdy, I’m BUDDY and I’m an 8-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix with that comfortable, laid-back, “lived in” look. You may even think we’ve met before, and who knows…in another lifetime? I’m not reactive to other dogs, in fact I got along fine with my finder’s dog. I walk well on a leash and use the doggie door. I listen to people and try to comply with their requests, even though I might not always understand. Once I’m home, and YOUR Buddy, I’m sure we’ll communicate with each other just fine! Remember, home is not only where the heart is, it’s also where the dog is. With that in mind, why don’t you take your new Buddy home!

Hi… my name is Frodo,

Frodo went to Rainbow Bridge on 9-16-22

When I was first at TALGV I was a puppy. Look at me now! I love my walks and at first I may get excited and pull on the leash, but once we get going I walk very well and pay close attention to my handler. I’m a big “teddy-bear-like” boy, and I require someone strong enough to handle me. I enjoy going for rides, but I may need assistance getting into high clearance vehicles. You know how hips can be! (I do take daily pain medication that will be paid for by Vet Care Support for Life.) I may be curious about other dogs but when provoked I react mildly, but I understand the “leave it” command, plus “sit,” “wait,” and “let’s go.” Take me for a walk; take me home; keep me forever…Please!

PS My baby picture is at the end of the gallery.

I love people, enjoy going for car rides, and enjoy sitting next to my person getting petted I adore going for walks, and I walk well on a leash. I can also use a doggie door. Hi… my name is Bear (aka Guy),

Adopted 8-24-21

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

How would you like a handsome Rottweiler/ Shepherd mix boy to come home with you? Since I’m “big” and 8-years-old, I will come to you with Vet Care Support for Life. I lived with two canine family members and we all got along well….except for my food aggression (which can be easily managed). I’m a real people dog, and I’ve been gentle with children, (no cats, please!). I’m house and crate trained (a little separation anxiety). I love car rides, and because I know two key commands: “wait” and “let’s go,” I’m an exceptionally good leash walker, matching my handler’s gait and “stopping” and “sitting” on command. Not to brag but did I mention I previously earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen prep training award? Hopefully I’ve piqued your curiosity enough to meet me and perhaps shake paws on my adoption!

Hi… my name is Bones,

Adopted 9-4-22

Staying in a foster home is like a vacation! I miss my friends at the shelter, but I’m really enjoying the change. I need exercise, and I’ve always enjoyed my walks, but now I get L-O-N-G walks.  I’m house trained, use a doggie door, love car rides, playing fetch and a good cuddle. I know the commands “sit,” “shake,”“down,” and “fetch,” and now “stay.” Then there’s “LEAVE IT.” I may be treat motivated, but with all of nature’s living creatures tempting me, that’s a hard one to obey. I should also tell you, cats are a no-no, but dogs may be okay. I’m still young and need a strong, confident person in my life to get me through the awkward stages. Home life can be good, but home life with you would be perfect.
