My world changed when my person died last year. Another family member took care of my brother, Happy, and me, but they couldn’t do that long-term. So coming here to TALGV was another big change for us, but you know how resilient dogs can be. Given a little time and kindness, we once again find the good things in life, and that’s what I’ve done. Plus, as a good-natured Shepherd (except with cats!) I’m eager to be devoted to and happy with my person. I’m a 5 1/2-year-old male, an exceptionally handsome black and tan Shepherd mix, who’ll be ever so happy to meet you. Won’t you please come see if I’m the dog for you? If you welcome me to your home forever, I’ll be your loyal companion for forever, too.

If you like playful, happy times along with some gentle, quiet moments too, we’ll be great friends! In my first family, I was a comfort to a 17-year-old with autism; he would talk to me and I helped him calm down. Unfortunately, they very sadly had to give me up when a health issue arose in the family, and then my next person had to leave me due to a cross-country move! So I’m here, often playing with my doggy run-mate, and hoping every day for the someone who’ll give me my forever home. I’m a 2-1/2-year-old Shepherd mix female, about 47 pounds (think small Shepherd), who knows basic commands, has been friends with children, and endeared myself to my people. If you can be my happily-ever-after someone, I’m ready to be yours.

I’ll share the sad part of my story first: I was abandoned, left behind when my person moved. And there may have been more cause for sadness before that, but I’m okay now—safe and cared for at TALGV—so let’s move on quickly to the good stuff. The walks, cozy blankets and soft bed here are great, and best of all I love the kindnesses—the gentle touches and sweet words. They tell me to say more about myself, so here goes: I’m 5 years old, a luscious cream color with charcoal highlights, female, and little. I hope you like little, cause I can’t really get bigger. And the main thing: I’ll give my whole heart to the person who adds true love and kindness to my life forever. Please say that’s you.

“A lovely dog,” is how my former people described me, and I like to think they were talking about more than just my gorgeous black, white and brown coat. They called me “sweet,” too, and said I played gently with the kids, but they couldn’t keep me after the father’s schedule changed and one of the children’s allergies increased significantly. Disappointing, yes, but I believe in a long, happy future. I’m just 1 year old, an Aussie/Shepherd mix female who’s a nice size at about 47 pounds. Being an easy-going dog, I enjoy a calm environment and going on walks is one of my favorite things (although I admit to chasing lizards on occasion). To be given away can be hurtful, especially when it’s not your fault. When my former people brought me to TALGV with three other family dogs, they said lots of good things about me, including that I’m gentle and tolerant with children. They said I’m a loyal, smart dog who know lots of commands—“come here,” “sit,” “eat,” “no,” and “lay down.” At 9 years old, I still enjoy lots of physical activity (I call that play) and walks with you (I’m leash trained). If all this sounds good, won’t you please come see me? I’m a beautiful Shepherd mix female, about 41 pounds, dark brown with touches of black, tan and white, and I’m holding on to the hope that someone wonderful does want a great companion like me.
