Animal League News

Hi… my name is Delilah,

I was abandoned near a high school and spent several days hiding in whatever shade I could find. I was scared and afraid to trust anyone. Thanks to some patient, kind humans, I became brave enough to come in from the heat. Now that I’m safe, I’ve discovered how much I love people. Like, really love them. I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who would happily be a lap dog as my motto is “if I fit – or not –  I sit!”  I’m still figuring out how I feel about other dogs. I’m a little nervous but somewhat curious, so we’re taking it slow. My friends will update you on my progress.  In the meantime, I’m looking for someone kind, patient, and ready to show me the safe, loving life I’ve always deserved. Could that be you?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Ayzi,

Adopted 7-11-25

My name is pronounced “A-Z.”  It’s unique, like me. I’ve got everythingyou’re looking for: I’m a one-year-old heart-melter with a soft spot for nice people, chill dogs, and cozy crates. I walk like a dream on a leash (seriously, I’m leash royalty), and while I am hard of hearing, that just means I don’t freak out over the doorbell. Want my attention? Just give a little wave or put something near my sniffer—no jump scares here, promise! High-energy dogs? Meh, not really my vibe. I’m more of a “let’s stroll and sniff the roses” kind of gal. I came to the shelter after my finder couldn’t keep me, but now I’m ready for my forever person. So don’t wait—this sweet, silly, and slightly soundproofed girl is everything you’re looking for – from A to Z!

Hi… my name is Honey,

Thank you kindly for taking a moment to read about me. I’m a young lady, still learning the ropes, and sometimes it takes me a minute to feel brave. I was found all by myself in a grocery store parking lot, but a kind soul from TALGV brought me to safety. Since then, I’ve made a few gentle doggie friends, and I’ve been working real hard on my manners—quietly, of course. Folks say I might’ve read a page or two from Emily Post. I even went to my first adoption event! It was a little scary at first, but the soft voices and kind smiles helped me feel hopeful. If you’re patient and tender-hearted, I just might blossom right into your lap and melt your heart like butter on a biscuit.

Hi… my name is Jack (aka Lloyd),

Adopted 6-22-25

When I came to TALGV after my owner of eight years had to rehome me, it didn’t take them long to figure out that my favorite things, in order, are: chasing balls, snacks, and chasing balls. Yes, I am an excellent walker on a leash. Yes, I enjoy scratches and belly rubs. Yes, I’m housebroken. They say I’m well-behaved and very sweet (oh, and handsome). The people here really love when I smile at them, and I figured out quickly that smiling gets me plenty of snacks, so I guess I’m also smart. I’m basically the total package! If you have snacks, like throwing the ball, and want a best friend for life, I may be the guy for you. I don’t need a lot, but I can offer a lifetime of love in return.

Hi… my name is Kris,

Adopted 6-9-25

I may be tiny – a “pocket pittie,” but don’t think I won’t run the show, and I’ll start by stealing your heart! I got my name after dodging a car (yep, I’m fast too!) and getting scooped up by a hero named Kris. I was skinny, scrappy, and clearly nobody had given me the love I deserved—until now. The shelter crew feeds me, spoils me, and can confirm I’m a heart-stealer. I’m about 2 years old and learning how to be friends with other dogs.  Puppies are more my speed right now, since I’m still recovering, but I’ll graduate to grown dogs. I’ve got a big personality, a bigger heart, and I’m ready to find my person. If you’re into sass, snuggles, and are easy prey to “puppy dog eyes,” let’s talk.

Hi… my name is Dolly,

For seven wonderful years, it was just me and my dad—and I loved him with all my heart. When he could no longer care for me, my world changed, and I’ve been missing him every day.  The TALGV volunteers are dedicated to finding the perfect home for me. I’m housebroken, walk nicely on a leash, and though I’m a bit shy at first, I warm up with patience and kindness. I’m on a little diet right now—food hasn’t been my focus since arriving—but I’m slowly starting to feel better. I believe there’s a family out there who will help my heart heal. Someone who understands that love takes time, but it’s worth it. I’m ready to find my second chance… a home filled with comfort, care, and a place to belong again.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Penny,

Adopted 5-18-25

I’m a stunning girl who arrived at TALGV after being found abandoned, alone and scared, in a nearby pecan field. I’ve since been fully vetted, spayed, and ready to start my quest to find a loving family. A few things about me: I like to take my time getting to know someone, so if you’re patient and respectful, I’ll show you the playful, fun side of me. I LOVE going for car rides and walks to explore all the sights, sounds, and scents. I also wait to ‘go’ until we are on a walk, so I’m likely housetrained. I’m unsure of other dogs; are they friendly or not? While my TALGV friends help me figure this out, please come by and ask to meet me. Maybe I’m the Penny that brings us BOTH good luck!

Hi… my name is Diesel,

Adopted 2-17-25

I’m a 2-year-old mixed breed, only 37 pounds, but my heart’s as big as they come. I’m shy when we first meet, like a diesel engine that takes a minute to warm up. But once I do, I’m ready to go, full of love, loyalty, and wagging tail. Oh! I’m a smart guy, too! I love puzzles and figuring things out – you could say I’m a bit of a problem solver. I walk really well on a leash, so we can explore the world together, and I promise, once we’re bonded, I’ll be right there with you, enjoying every adventure (and every snuggle). If you’re patient, I’ll warm your heart just as much as you’ll warm mine. Come meet me, so I can prove it!

Hi… my name is Milkshake,

While my name is “Milkshake,” my new nickname since I’ve trimmed down is “Slim Fast,” and I feel great! I’m a happy, friendly pup who just LOVES people. I’m a gal who’ll greet you with a tail wag and stay by your side through thick and thin. I’ve got great house manners, love car rides, and take my naps like a pro. I’ll even go in my crate for a treat—easy peasy! I sit politely for the leash and wait to be invited in—manners matter, right? I can get barky at the doorbell, but once you’re inside, we’re besties. I’m still working on being calm around other dogs on leash, but I’m getting better! Life wasn’t always easy, but it’s all about second chances and spreading joy. Come meet me—I’ll be your new best friend!
